yes they do, though you don't see abduction much.

everyone's playing the same game i.e. they get the same events and have to make the same choices you do.

If this were only completely true, what a wonderful game this would be.
Yea, this is sadly how ck3 not works. Player rules are different and more gamey, CK2 was more straightforward in this point.

To name a few mechanics which work different for players:

-dread not working against the player
-player relation towards an npc seems to be completely irrelevant and is a hidden value.
-players can't be champion of their liege.

It took me a while to get over this as a ck2 veteran, but now I don't even miss it. Having it just mirror the guy you're looking at makes it a lot simpler to understand, and the minutiae of how your character's traits interact with their opinion score of the target guy really doesn't matter if you can act against your own personality as a player anyway.

True, player relations toward an npc did not have a big impact. I don't miss them either.

There was an interesting way to use it though, in Iqta Muslim government lords were paying their liege money depending on their opinion about him IIRC.
You as a rational player would be interested in having bad relations with him in most cases. You even had this new feature button "decrease relations" added sometimes later.

In CK3 Clan government player taxes to their liege is just a fixed percentage, opinion doesn't matter, while all other vassals are still affected by opinion.
Correct me if I am wrong

Also only one AI can try to murder you at a time.
This is the one that bothers me the most. Inly one plot to murder the player allowed at a time.
I suppose IF everyone who wants to kill you can join the same plot at the same time (which idont think is the case) then it might be ok. But otherwise come on. No one kills me enough for being a tyrant anymore.

Never been plot murderd in ck3

Hello! Never played a game, have a question: do AI characters use schemes in the same way player does? Do AI characters abduct other AI, do they fabricate hooks and so on?
It happens (you notice this when some ruler wants you to lay an ambush to capture a character "passing through your lands"), but very rarely as a perk of a focus tree is needed - so probability alone reduces it to only a fraction of the characters having the ability at all...and then those might be still hampered by traits, lacking skill, different priorities or a missing target.

also, the AI doesn't have the same fog of war and the player can't die in childbirth

If you don't care about achievements, there is a mod that fixes it. I always use it.

Another lost feature is that the player doesn't get marriage offers from the AI anymore. While the AI is capable of sending offers to other AI's, it's blocked in player direction.

You can even switch to a character who just got an offer and accept/decline it.
