Hello

I have CK2 on Steam with SoI.
Everything was working fine for weeks, until I had to format my C: partition a few days ago and reinstall XP.

Steam and CK2 are on my G: partition. The folder with settings.ini was in C: .

So I had to do the "verify cache" thing to get my Steam games back but that's all I had to do.
Except for CK2.

After I did it, it downloaded a big bunch of files (it did, in a much smaller scale, for some other games). But clicking on the icon didn't do anything. No starting window, no game running.

However, clicking on the ck2 icon in the Steam folder DOES run the game -- direct, no starting window. It's just that in the game, DLCs do not appear. Nor SoI or the free DLCs such as ruler designer.

I tried uninstalling the game, restore a save I had made, redownload everything, verify cache again and again: nothing.

Plus, the only languages the game allows me via Steam are now English and Polish. But I still play the game in French. When I started it via ck2, the game asked my to chose the language on the in-game choice of four.

I think you have a .NEt problem. Go to the Windows Update site and allow it to install all .NEt updates it suggests.

IT'S WORKING ! IT'S WORKING !! :anakin:

Thanks to you !!
I had already installed .NET 4.0 but it was not enough.
I didn't know that the different .NET actually completed each other. NET framework is the most incomprehensible thing Microsoft ever made: it is required for a ton of things, everybody has them, and nobody knows what it is or how it works !

You're awesome.
