I don't understand why people are saying the War of 1812 is boring, considering that:
* It was caused by the Napoleonic Wars
* The White House was burned to the ground
* The USA got its national anthem from it
* The idea that people of the USA are different from British was solidified by the war
* The British had to allocate resources on the war that could have otherwise been spent on the Napoleonic Wars
* Someone playing as the USA could decide to ally with France (again), take over Canada, etc.
* Someone playing as Britain could retake the USA, which would make its western front much simpler for hopefully the duration of the Napoleonic Wars
* Someone playing as France could exploit the situation
* Before the war begins, someone playing as Britain could decide to go soft on the USA, or vice versa, avoiding/delaying the war and thus letting Britain focus more on the Napoleonic Wars

At least one person gave it proper consideration. +1
