DLC Suggestion - War of 1812 - please!!

Just a suggestion but for DLC content the War of 1812 between Canada (Britain) and the USA would be great. It's the same period of history and would work quite well with this game engine. Have a zoomed in map of Eastern Canada and USA, with Canada vs USA along with the First Nations (Natives / American Indians) as minor powers including the 6 Nations Iroquois Confederacy etc. Would be good for 1 v 1 multiplayer as well.

Could consider expanding it to include Mexico and the Caribbean to bring in the Spanish and French to the map or something like that.

I made this suggestion in another topic but since this one is for DLC suggestions here it is. Another great DLC would be to push the timeline back to include the invasions of Italy and Egypt and even adding Napoleons return to France to take over as a nice flavor event.

The developers said they thought of having a North American inset, but decided to keep the game Europe-only, which I agree with. There are, however, "northamericangfx" and "southamericangfx" in the files. Would they work? There is even a "chinesegfx" file...

Yes, why oh why would you include it? Even the Mexican American war would be better (or the Civil War if it could be done) but please to the revolutionary wars, or a zoomed in map of Spain for the Pennisular War

The Peninsular war has been covered by a Total War DLC if you're interested... and in that scenario i'm not sure there is much a PI game could do that Total War couldn't.

Interesting. South American wars of independence were fought in this era. Would make for a fantastic game. Simon Bolivar fighting Spaniard royalists in the Andes.

Barbary wars would only be interesting if the north african minors had more punch at sea, would need to implement sloops for that

And shouldn't a DLC about the Napoleonic wars be kinda related to the Napoleonic wars ?

I think Paradox won't make dlc's for this game. They are currently working on EU4.

I know it would take some major changes because it's so far back in time but I think the Seven years war has a ton of potential. You would have to maybe redo the idea system but you could keep the coalition system, expand the map to include the Americas, maybe even further east like India too. Create a diplomatic system for dealing with Indians, make them more adept at ambushing smaller forces or interfering with supply lines behind an invading army.

I don't understand why people are saying the War of 1812 is boring, considering that:
* It was caused by the Napoleonic Wars
* The White House was burned to the ground
* The USA got its national anthem from it
* The idea that people of the USA are different from British was solidified by the war
* The British had to allocate resources on the war that could have otherwise been spent on the Napoleonic Wars
* Someone playing as the USA could decide to ally with France (again), take over Canada, etc.
* Someone playing as Britain could retake the USA, which would make its western front much simpler for hopefully the duration of the Napoleonic Wars
* Someone playing as France could exploit the situation
* Before the war begins, someone playing as Britain could decide to go soft on the USA, or vice versa, avoiding/delaying the war and thus letting Britain focus more on the Napoleonic Wars

I'm also not sure why it would be considered boring, being a Canadian myself I find it quite interesting and it was a defining moment in my countries short history. Seems everyone saying so is from other regions and probably doesn't have the same connection to the war as Canadians and Americans do (though Americans tend to forget about it since they lost ) I loved playing this period in Empire: Total War, would be interesting to play it here and it should be pretty easy to make.

The US didn't quite lose; it was a draw (the treaty was a "white peace" in Paradox terms). Though the US did get pretty steamrolled in the beginning. Also it was forgotten because much larger and more important wars followed it: the Civil War, WWI, and WWII.
