Will there be a lot of DLC again which ruin the game paradox?...

I mean if you ruin to me the game like your did in crusader kings,HOI4 is the last game i will buy from you guys :c.
I just love WW2 too much to not play this.

But if its going to be

Playable nations: Germany
and then like

Oh you want to play sowjets? sure!
Just buy this Sowjet Steel DLC for 15,99€

Included: 15 New Events which dont rly change anything but is still fun to see

And then like

80 DLC´s each 0,99€ ONLY!
each DLC adds like 1 Sprite or Paint option for the real strategy players!

Well after 2 years after the release you might wanna look for our cheap Collection bundle for Only 150€ instead of 300€ well at least its 50% off so you might wanna grab it right now!

But if you just keep doing this why not sell the game like you are able to join the menu but first you need too buy at least 1 nation DLC to actually play the game!

Even if this sounds like the biggest bull**** ever made you proofed to us that this is the way you do the things with Crusader Kings.

I mean maybe I´m just a little too harsh and should stop crying maybe Crusader Kings 2 does make a lot of fun!
Hey the Collection Bundle for only 144,99€ right now with ONLY 41 DLC?! Thats a great deal i guess.

Have you even read the diaries before posting this? Every nation is playable in vanilla. Also most of the CK2 packs are just cosmetic and not needed. Now im not arguing that it shouldn't maybe be toned down a little bit but i think your reaction is pretty overboard.

Well it is about being a little overboard and yeah of course I know that there will be other Nations to play with it´s just you buy a game full priced 60€ then you should at least get a full game and not 80% and the rest 20% cosmetics only cost 80 € more

I mean in almost every game DLC´s are not needed but with every DLC released you feel more betrayed and even cosmetics sometimes do a huge impact onto the game


I mean just imagine a Game where you could play on 1920p but are only allowed playing on 1080p but if you buy the dlc for only 5€ they allow you to turn it into 1920p (Ego-Shooter for example)

I mean you dont have to buy it cause 1080p is just fine

All nations are playable at the base game. Besides, they put a lot of work into these DLCs, which, 9 times out of 10, improve the game a LOT. I mean just look at the expansions for Hearts of Iron 3. It's only fair that we should pay a little bit of money, which they deserve.

The thing that sells it is the lack of capitalization on the "I" in the 2nd sentence But thank you, even if you are being tongue in cheek. It honestly does make a difference in how inclined I am to read a post in the first place. Call it classicism if you must.

On the topic at hand, I do agree that CK II in particular can seem intimidating when you first approach it and find half the nations locked behind a DLC wall. But unlike Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron, Crusader Kings never sold itself as a game where you can play any nation. It sold itself as a game about the crusades, and then expanded from there. Sure, having Retinues in one DLC and tributaries in another does feel a bit absurd, but those two features were developed pretty far apart. If it hadn't been for the DLC policy, we would instead have seen Legacy of Rome being released as a full price CK III, and Horse Lords as CK IV. By now there's enough features added to say they should have included them all and just sold a single €60 CK III, but I liked not having to wait 2 years to play Muslims, and only having to pay €10 for the ability to do so, rather than €60.

Chances are all the 'small' DLC will be either music or cosmetic, neither of which you need to enjoy the game. If you want sprites just check out this mod https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/minor-nation-3d-model-project.840832/ or if you want music, just compile a playlist on youtube, its not that hard.

I could quote myself now from quite a lot of other threads about this topic, whether in the CKII or the Cities Skylines or the EU4 forum, but I guess its just wasted effort.

But as I always have hope its not to hard to understand: Screw cosmetics if you don't like them, buy DLCs only in sales (like, you know, every 2 months) and see how you magically just spent 100 euros over 4 years instead of 250. Its anyway not too expensive for a game you can play literally a thousand hours without getting bored, so no rant needed.

Oh, and no, the base game alone is perfectly playable as well. Its not a cut version, its not unfished, it is a full and perfectly playable game by itself.

from your post i get the feeling you just want to rant as none of it makes sense every nation is playable at the begining of the game which means you have done no research on this game at all before making a post full of blatant misinformation.
