I'm so sorry some of you feel the monorails are not a good addition :( We opted for freedom so players can build flexible systems. In my opinion, that is the most important feature of a game where the main goal is to build systems from different parts: enough freedom to be creative. I'll have a look at the floating tracks, it might be that it cannot be helped, but I would love to fix the issue.

In CiM2, the monorail differs from metro in cost and passenger attractiveness, as well as the price for building and capacity. It's between trams and metro, and I think it does visually spice up the cities nicely.

Agree. This game made me play hours upon hours without being bored and such things. The game is not perfect and it is progressing slowly for sure (which is kind of sad), but this game is likeable and enjoyable after all. You just need to put aside some of your concerns, at least for a while. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see improvements and new buildings, but i understood the fact that this game can offer an experience which is really rare today (building a public transportation system). So i will stick with it and try to be as patient as possible. Hatred towards the dev won't solve anything.
I totally agree with this!. I know that I have a particular dislike of monorails and thus will not buy this DLC, but I too have spent many happy hours enjoying the game.
PS If you want to really want a serious upgrade to the game I suggest you install eis_os patches (available here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?735267-CIM2-Bundle-Patches-by-eis_os) that not only give you the possibility of a pre-metro, that is a serious step of evolution between tram and metro, you also get improved pedestrian paths.

Thats not a switch.

As far as I can see, switches can not be built for Monrail.

The track is single directional, you can build turnarounds as you would Metro, but having a 1-2-1 track spline does not exist.

Be good if Colossal Order addressed all concerns in this thread and not just skim it.

This will be the first DLC I won't purchase because its got nothing other than a rebranded metro. I encourage others to take the same vote to send a clear message were not suckers for DLC that is purely cosmetic (which the community could of done as they did with CIM1 had you exposed the internals of CIM2).

This is how real monorail switches look like (depot Osaka, Japan) :

I'm pretty sure all players do like the new DLC. Some are blaming it just because they are angry: the issues they have encountered in the game were denied by developers, so they know (think) those issues are not going to be resolved.

This is exactly how I feel. I mean I got nothing against this DLC, it would be a good addition, why not. But nobody really asked for this. There are hundreds more important and 100x more oftenly requested things (including bug fixes, more buildings/European buildings, some older non futuristic vehicles, and really small things like being able to name streets and other things from CIM1) that I just don't see the appeal of monorails. Up until yesterday I was hoping that the patch would deal with at least some common issues, but as the patch got released I really lost most of my hope :( I still do have a little bit of hope, because I see CO staff often replying to suggestions and stuff saying how they will look into it etc., so maybe there is some hope, I dunno. I just hope that 1.5.0 and this DLC won't be the last thing we see for months to come.

Nothing against CO - as I stated earlier in this thread the wave of negativity is strong enough - and thank you for acknowledging the floating tracks, this was the main point of my semi-rant. Despite all of the issues (and fear of God every time Unity-related updates are pushed for the Mac version of CiM2), I put in 473 hours, so I'll still support the game as long as progress moves forward.

I had never wanted this DLC, a new transportsystem needs this game at the very least.
The game requires MOD-capability and new content for the editor. Still to eliminate addition, there are a whole lot of bugs.

Are there plans for another DLC´s or free content or bugfixing in the near future?

Ye, looks like tactic "make lot of things, dont do anything in 100%". Price = quality. BUT! In that case, quality still wins ;)

And CiM 2 cant have easy mod tool. Forget about it :)

I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to tell you, so lets just say there might be something new still coming that has been requested a lot. We have not forgotten the current bugs, don't worry! I'm sorry for the modding issue, the Unity engine just doesn't bend that way. Modding is great and we at Colossal Order want to support it, but this choice of engine allowed us to concentrate much more on the content and balancing of the game. Today we might make a different choice, since the no-modding feature is a big issue, but unfortunately it is impossible to fix the issue now. We just hope we can bring you content that you enjoy :)

You could at least help to change the issue by supporting people like eis_os who are working on the issue.

If you are really serious with the modding issue - help these people to sort out their issues and they might be able to provide the community with modding functions. Don't talk - do!!

I looking foreward to hear positive feedback from those people.
