Hi guys,

I've got all the DLC and my game is fully updated, however the box at the launcher where the DLC should be listed (along with tick-boxes) is empty. this means that I can't actually use the DLC, and when I launch the game with the empty DLC box, the game thinks that I don't own any DLC at all, and suggests I buy them. I don't know what's going on - steam says I have downloaded them (and I know I have), but suddenly about 4 days ago the box just went empty and now I cannot select to play with any DLC. I can still however, play games which I previously started with DLC, but I cannot, seemingly, start any more with the DLC!

Here's a picture to show what I mean:

Please help guys! It's really annoying me.

Alex.

If you're using Steam, right click Crusader Kings II and click 'properties', then go verify the game's integrity or so. It should do the trick.

Hi everyone,

I have exactly the same problem with my Crusader Kings (Steam version) : the "select DLC to play" and "select mods to play" don't show up. I tried to reinstall the game, rereinstall the game, but still : it doesn't work... Also, maybe I'm stupid (or just bad in English ^^'), but I don't understand the "go verify the game's integrity" thing.

For information : I'm using Windows 7 64x.

Thanks for your help ! (I hope I will soon be able to try this A Song of Ice and Fire mod...)

In Steam go to the library page where all your games are listed. There find CKII hover your mouse over it and press the right mouse button. Chose properties then local files from the window that opens and there should be verify integrity of game cache button there. Press it and let it run so it will check the files.

It took more or less three minutes to do it. I tried to do it again (just in case...) and then restart my PC, but the situation did not change : I can't see any mod or DLC...

This problem is really beginning to drive me mad.

Try a full clean reinstall: uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete the CK2 directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam.

Already tried. Already failed.

(Well, not exactly exactly. I did'nt buy the game via Steam but I bought a CD, so I installed it with this CD, even if then Steam finish himself the setup. I hope this explanation is clear enough... But anyway, I don't think I can directly install Crusader Kings directly from Steam without the CD.)

EDIT : Correction, I can reinstall fully the game via Steam. It is what I'm trying to do now (even if it's going to take me 4 hours of downloading, thanks to the wonderful Internet connection we have in isolated villages...).

EDIT 2 : Still, it doesn't work.

Look in the CK2 DLC directory, do you have a listing of files there? What are they exactly?

I assume like most people you have Steam installed in the system path, so under c:\program files\ . Copy your whole CK2 directory structure from under Steam to a new place like c:\games\ck2\ . Now try running ck2game.exe from there directly.

Hello everyone !

I tried to put the CK2 directory in another place than Steam, as you said AndrewT, and it worked ! I guess I must have something wrong with Steam on my computer...
Weird. But still : the problem is solved, is the only thing that matters ^_^

Thanks for your help !

I came here because for a while i had a problem with everyone having random coat of arms. I googled it to see if i could find a solution to this problem. Found someone mentioning the coat of arms dlc not working. So i went and checked. Turned out all my dlcs had disappeared from the Crusader Kings 2 welcome screen. So i searched on, ended up at this post and tried it. The verify thing told me in 2 seconds that there was nothing wrong. So i tried moving the map. That didnt work either. I rebooted and accidently stumbled upon a support post on the steam forum. They told me that verifying really was the solution. So i tried that, and it worked! 8 files not found, and steam downloaded it back. Now its back and working again. Also, why the copying the files thing didnt work? Simple, all the dlc files simply werent there, so there wasnt anything to get fixed.
Anyway, long story short, do the verify thing, it works, if you cant get it to work, reboot your pc, try again :)
