I know it's unpopular to say anythign about the amount of DLC this game has. I was smart and got most of it in Steam sales, in the end I ended up paying about 30% of the normal price of all current DLC. Still, I fear that when a new player stumbles on the Steam page and sees the 241€ worth of DLC this game has, they are just completely overwhelmed and end up not buying the game.

I have an idea that might solve that; DLC bundles. Bundling DLC to packs that include DLC that relate to a particular area in the game. Here's an example:

British Isles Bundle
Includes:
  • Saxon Unit Pack
  • Celtic Portraits
  • Celtic Unit Pack
  • Songs of Albion
  • Early Western Clothes
This would be a smaller bundle, but there could be bigger ones like a "Old Gods Megabundle" with TOG and many face and unit packs like Norse, Baltic and Russian with the music packs for Norse and Rus. These bundles would be accompanied with descriptive text like "everything you need for playing as the Pagan/Muslim/etc characters." Of course, these bundles would also carry discounts with them.

I thought that this thread goes here instead of the suggestion forum, as this is not exactly a suggestion to the game itself.

They could remove the single dlc and give people discounts on the packs according to what they own in the pack already. (This has been done before on steam).

Continuing the tradition of four per pack, they could also add one or two cosmetic DLC with the addition in a pack. Again you wouldn't worry about repurchasing anything since you can configure discount for the DLC you already own and you wouldn't loose more money on this form.

And the innocent new players won't be as overwhealmed by the DLC list.
