Divisions can be disbanded when pocketed and their manpower and equipment will be returned

When I do so, I get a warning that I'll lose all equipment and most of the manpower - and disbanding them, that is what happens.

My guess is that the type of pocket might matter (ie. that the game doesn't properly recognise a pocket that you do) Do you have a save of such a pocket where you can disband without losing your MP/equipment?
