At the moment I'm assuming the division template shows the theoretical combat stats of the unit assuming it has a full load out of modern equipment.

In most cases a country either wont have enough equipment or more likely wont have enough modern equipment so the actual numbers are likely to be very different. There is a fair difference between a full strength Panzer division with PzIV's and modern infantry weapons and one that's missing half it's tanks, the ones it does have are PzIII's and the infantry are using 1936 small arms.

It would be nice if the division designer could show this so that people can see the reality vs on paper. Even if it's just a second number in brackets to the right that shows actuals based on current equipment availability.

I dont really have an problem with the division designer showing you the maximum strenght of an unit, even tho i am wondering How they estimate it. Overall, If you add medium tank batatlions that could mean anything from pzIII to E-50. Maybe it comes down to what you have researched.

The problem with that would be, that the game doesnt know how much divisions you plan to train in serial or parallel. Lets say you have 10000 infantry equipment and want to build infantry divisions that take 1000 equipment each. How is the game supposed to know if you plan to build 10 or 100?

When it comes to each individual division, if you take a look at them they will actually show you the real stats, of course. In World War Wednesday Part 1 for example, Johan changed all his infantry divisions to motorized. When he showed one of those divisions at the 38.15 mark you could see that he didnt had any motorized equipment at all and the division only had an max sped of 4 km/h, which is the speed of an regular infantry division.
