This is an AAR on the campaign of Divide et Impera, an MP game currently at its 2nd session, we had the idea to make an AAR only recently so forgive us.
Here's a situation of the world:

And here is a closer look to Europe:

k012sp.jpg

So to summarize the situation in 1471:

-Lauwrenzo(Portugal) became a merchant republic and has already started colonization in Mexico
-Tigerkid(Castille) will soon form Spain, and he somehow reached Huron and colonized it, also he's colonizing Brazil
-Histaxin(France) is pwning everybody in the Flanders and is certainly a major power, he also started to colonize the Creek-Shawnee-Cherokee area
-Tornadoli(England) is sitting in the British Isles, not colonizing yet, but partecipating to some major wars
-the answer 42(Ferrara) yes you heard right, Ferrara, it became the strongest nation in Italy after the previous Naples perm left and was left braindead, in the end Ferrara had Tuscany, Romagna and other central provinces, also Calabria, Naples was also vassalized.(I have to say that the full circumstances are still unclear to me)
-wendo99(Austria) hasn't expanded really much but it's still the strongest nation in the HRE(not for long muahahaha)
-Me(Brandenburg) swiftly expanding, but still i'm very weak
-Empty Spot(Holland) not much to say here, can form Netherlands soon i think, we need a PERMANENT PLAYER here
-scorpionblue(Sweden) owns more or less all Scandinavia(Norway is a vassal), no colonization though
-Dankysh(Poland) he joined the HRE, had quite a successful game, but then this guy was quite unlucky, he lost the PU on Lithuania and Hungary(low prestige due to unlawful territory) and was stuck with a 1 years old heir, sad story(the heir is now 12 or 13 years old IIRC)
-Tomfromnorway(Muscowy) recently pwned Novgorod, but he wasn't patient enough to follow the mission to vassalize Novgorod and now he has to wait 50 years to form Russia(We need SUBSTITUTE for him)
-Lamertu(Ottomans) is happily sitting in the Middle East eating those territories, though he recently expanded in Hungary and somehow got Venice

Anyway i'm sure the others will post their nations' AAR here, here is mine

Rise of the Prussian Eagle(currently Brandenburgian but let's go ahead :D)

Jobst von Luxembourg(14/10/1399-1/10/1417)

The year 1399 is coming to an end, and Brandenburg is stuck in a Personal Union with the stupid king Jobst of Luxembourg, known as “the opressor”.
The nobility of Brandenburg was plotting a long time against him, but unfortunately there was little they could do until he would die, but in 1417 a young guy, Albrecht Achilles von Wettin, convinced France to protect him in case of a rebellion against the evil Jobst.
On 1st October war was declared, and Albrecht was elected margrave of Brandenburg, while the French forces invaded Luxembourg, making Jobst agree to a white peace

Albrecht Achilles von Wettin(1/10/1399-4/11/1431)

Although Brandenburg was free it was weak, if compared to the other states it had to compete with, the new margrave promised to expand the little German state, and in a few years he declared war on Pommerania, formally willing only the province of Vorpommern, but he aimed for all the duchy.
Unfortunately during the war he was struck by a mental illness, and instead of attaining to the master plan of annexing Pommerania and vassalising it's ally Meissen, he annexed Meissen and left Pommerania alone(I crashed and was lead by the retarded AI).
The king died heir-less on 4th November 1431, and on his death a distant relative of the duke of Ferrara was put on throne, and not all the nobles were happy.

Christian Wilhelm d'Este(4/11/1431-30/6/1446)

Although having Italian roots, this guy cared a lot for Brandenburg, and under his rule most of the expansion until now was done.
He wanted to retry to claim Pommerania again, but he was opposed by the king of Poland. Supported by the military might of France, he demanded from him the whole duchy, and maybe because the king of Poland was afraid of France, maybe because he was willing to make Brandenburg a powerful ally, he agreed to let Brandenburg get both Pommerania and Silesia, an ally of Pommerania. Unfortunately he died before seeing his plan accomplished, and his 12 years old heir continued his work, although helped by his uncle regent.

Johann Friedrich d'Este(30/6/1446-Present day)

After the conquests Brandenburg could be considered a serious weight on the international balance of powers, but still it was very weak in comparison to its rivals.
During the reign of Johann, Brandenburg partecipated in a massive HRE vs France war, where France apparently was the agressor, only later he discovered that it was Austria that started it, because it claimed the throne of Luxembourg, an area of interest for France.
Currently the relations with France aren't really good, but Johann doesn't consider them enemies.

So after this introduction, that was made quite a lot of time after the two sessions(of course no pics),
i will continue it more or less in this style, but in a more complete way, with my thoughts, motivations etc.
My plans for now are to heavily expand in Germany(getting Lubeck is a high priority, though it will be hard)

Cool introduction mate. I forgot about the Pommerania incident in mine, shall update when I do my final version :p
However, As the advisor to the King of Poland, I can confirm that Poland was not afraid of France :) He decided to be benevolent to his German Neighbours and assist in the rise of Prussia :)

My AAR (Poland):http://www.fileserve.com/file/ucz3VqT/AAR.docx

The Ascension and Punishment of Brandenburg, or how to land in crap after climbing a slide(1471-1502)

Johann Friedrich I died on 4th January 1472, his heir, Johann Friedrich II inherited the county of Anhalt, further expanding the margraviate of Brandenburg.
The new ruler sought to expand even further the small German state, so he pressed his legitimate claims on the throne of the duchy of Brunswick, a state of the Hanseatic Confederation.
The war was short but bloody, the rest of the Confederation answered the call for help of the duchy, but in the end the cities of Magdeburg and Luneburg(no idea on how to write the u with the two dots) were ceded to Brandenburg as vassals, and Johann Friedrich was crowned ruler of Brunswick.

In the middle of the war, Luneburg and Magdeburg are already vassalized, only Bremen is left to take

An overview of Europe, as you can see Brandenburg has its name on the map:happy:

Notice how Brunswick was still a duchy of the Hansa while in PU with me
This is also the last screenshot as i realised that it provokes OOS, perhaps Steam doesn't?

Shortly after the war the king of Poland asked help from Brandenburg in the war against Lithuania, Johann was happy to help, an army of 17000 men was dispatched.

In the year 1478 Johann Friedrich II asserted a claim on the throne of the electorate of Saxony, which would make him become its ruler in case of the premature death of the current king, but Johann decided to declare war on the electorate in order to enforce his claim. The war was short and only 1000 men were killed, after the fortress of Leipzig fell to Brandenburgian forces on December 1478, Johann Friedrich II d'Este became prince elector of Saxony.
In 1481 the Holy Roman Emperor, realizing he made a bad decision, wisely re-gave the status of Elector to the Margraviate of Brandenburg, only to cancel it again some time after(hate that these HRE actions are event based:glare:)

Johann Friedrich II d'Este died on 10th February 1485, and his heir, Johann Friedrich III(how creative) took the throne

Brunswick and Saxony were inherited and integrated into Brandenburg, and a year after Johann III claimed the throne of the city of Hamburg, and again he declared war to enforce these claims, this angered the remaining states of the Hanseatic Confederation, in particular the capital Lubeck, that pointlessly defended Hamburg, Johann Friedrich III made the Confederation a vassal of Brandenburg, arguably the best achievement in Johann III's reign.
At the same time in 1487 the so-called emperor of the huge iceberg of Sweden pressed claims on the throne of the duchy of Mecklenburg, hoping to find warmer places to live in. Johann III was outraged by this behaviour, and sent a warning to the ruler of Sweden to leave the throne of Mecklenburg.
Sweden was protected by a big navy that would block an invasion into the Danish islands of Fyn and Sjaelland that are on the way into Scandinavia itself, but Johann trusted into the newly acquired vassal of Lubeck to help with that.

After a few years of preparations and diplomacy, Johann Friedrich III declared war on the Swedish Empire. Unfortunately for Johann, a new ally of Sweden, Portugal, decided to help Sweden in dominance of the Baltic, exposing Brandenburg to attack and preventing to go further than Jylland.
When apparently the situation was severely disbalanced, the king of England arrived with a proposal to help, at the condition of keeping Portugal in the war.
Johann accepted, thinking that the war was now in his favour, but he was wrong, for some reasons the English fleet failed to defeat the Portuguese, being instead near entirely annihilated.
After the army has been destroyed, the war was in a stalemate, but Sweden refused white peace, instead invading the ally Poland, that was meanwhile protecting my lands. This was a bad move, and when defeated the invading army of 26000 men, the Swedish “emperor” agreed to peace.

Having learned the lesson, Johann recruited a bigger army divided in two corps, he hoped that it was enough, but in 1498 he had to stand a new test of Sweden.
The year before France attacked the Ottoman Empire, that had a personal union with Deccan, the most powerful nation in India, the war went well, but it left the mainland France exposed. Austria used this to strike, having been called into the war by France, Brandenburg declared war on Austria,
The two armies were sent to Austria, to siege Vienna, but the Austrians had 40000 soldiers in the area, making it pointless to continue. At the same time Sweden jumped into the war, so the army was retreated into homeland.
The largest battle of the war was in Mecklenburg, with 26000 Brandenburgian soldiers and around 30000 Swedish. It was a shameful loss, because Sweden used innovative Irish soldiers and killed my men at an approximately 1:2 ratio
Defeated the only two armies, Brandenburg stood no chance against Sweden, so Johann agreed to surrender, ceding Hamburg.
Humiliated, Johann decided that it was time to put an end to being a minor nation, but he knew he wouldn't be able to finish the work...
