In case any of you missed the latest Blorg stream (part 1):

On Khersonia, which was the 1st planet the Blorgs had colonized, you have Blorgs that are now Fanatic Xenophile AND Fanatic Pacifists (take THAT, ethos point cap), while some Blorgs apparently got converted to Spiritualists by the Sibulan space owls. We also have Blorgs who are just Militarist and no more Fanatical Xenophiles... friendship is overrated.

blorgs.PNG

On the newly formed colony of Broadleaf (later aptly renamed to "No Strong Feelings" by Wiz), we have Blorgs who are FILTHY NEUTRALS.

The idea of diverging into True Neutral is kinda weird to me. I mean, it makes sense since all that's really happening is that it's shifting along the axis, but thematically it feels off.

I'm not surprised those unethical Blorgs turned Neutral... after all, they're situated in the Neutral Zone!

It isn't really True Neutral as more just Moderates on all the axes.
They could be considered followers of the Blorg equivalent of the Aristotelian Golden Mean

Yeah. I feel like there should be a minimum of 1 ethos per POP (though have a very rare event of filthy neutrals could be fun).I like the idea of POPs not been super limited by the ethics point limit, but I hope they at last stay around the 3 points as an average.

I'd assume there is a strong bias towards 3 ethos points, but if not there should be. Pops having 3 fanatic ethics shouldn't be impossible, but insanely rare. Same with no ethical direction at all.

id like a dev response, to see if its weighted toward 3 or not

wouldnt be the end of the world if it wasn't however, im just relieved its not entirely based around events changing ethos. i thought it was from the earlier blorg streams and it just make me think of horrible memories of playing as usa in vichy two.

True. It's just funny looking to see large groups of people (in-universe) effectively opt out of a game mechanic :p

Are they opting out of game mechanics?
Moderate stances on any of the Axes is a valid position.

The Default Blorg are neither Materialist or Spiritualist, neither collectivists nor individualists.

A moderate position is not apathy or a lack of assertion on the ethos, just that the position isn't imbalance in one direction or another.

I wonder if it is a just as humans we find that since moderation in Ethos in game lacks an icon, we feel like it is a "empty" position, opr that the pop is missing any Ehtoi

If there was an icon for a middle position for all three ethic axes and all Pops and Empires showed all three icons , then this Pop would have three moderate position icons, rather than showing no Ethic positions and thus "feel" less like it was missing ethoi

I always assumed that "neutral" meant that some members of the group leaned one way, some leaned the other, but overall there was no clear pattern.

Theology and spiritualist for tall empires is one choice. I always suspected that there would be additional unrevealed mechanics to ethics divergence, that wasn't listed as a bonus. I thought it would be in the event system though, not that negative divergence actually meant convergence, although conformity hinted at it.

The script language files for ethos should be similar to the way they add in traits to CK2 characters. There were ways to have a top limit there and to check for how many the characters had.
