Disunited socialist republics
Recently i quickly made a following modification: I forced the dismantlement of USSR in the very beginning of the game into separate republics. The only 3 republics I kept united were the transcaucasian states (AzSSR, ArSSR, and GSSR), or should I separate them too?
Currently all republics have a bunch of ministers and military leaders, although I haven't yet checked if those ministers are appropriate for 1936 republics (although I assume they are since Paradox included them).
The storyline could be that Stalin was overthrown or overpowered by Trotsky who believed that Stalin's efforts to unite republics were too "heavy handed" and once in power he insisted on their national self determination, transforming what was beginning to get known as USSR into a commonwealth of allied socialist nations.
I haven't played the game far enough yet to see how this separation actually affects the gameplay, but it surely is a significant change. All I know is that we get a bunch of new nations to play as, trade with, and which we need to assist also. At first i made all republics puppet states of Soviet Russia, but that seemed to cause the economies of many of the republics start collpasing early on in the game and I couldn't do anything to save them. So i decided to permit some "free trade" in the comintern by ceasing their puppet status and therefore allowing them to trade freely within and beyond the comintern. Amazingly, their economies started recovering immidiately so i guess that is the way to go.
The republican flags which I used (except transcaucasia) belong tothis site. These flags were actually adopted in the 1950, the earlier republican flags looked more like that Transcaucasian flag. The reason i use the 1950 flags currently is because they are the only ones i could find on the internet.
