Dissolve HRE

I am not in the HRE, and I dont want it to threaten my Frisian kingdom in the future. I will be able to destroy them in the next war, but maybe not the next ones in 50-100 years. Is there a way i can destroy the empire so bad now that it will dissolve into independent kingdoms/duchies?

You can try chain-assassinating the emperors. That usually throws things into anarchy.

If you manage to get them to have a female ruler with a female heir, that should be enough to throw them into a bloddy civil war. Excommunicate her for a plus. Everyone will hate her.

So check if there are any female title claimants laying around and invite her to your court. Then press it.
Just watch out that she'll grab only 1 single county from the current emperor and as such the former one will his big demesne will surely try and grab the title again from her, so you should protect her long enough for things to go bad.

But with the new factions systems, vassals with the same culture as the liege will form factions only to lower CA, so it seems. Maybe after it is at a minimun, they'll start wanting to become independent, I've never seen it getting thus far.

if you want to "dissolve" the HRE per se, then you need at least one empire title aside from the HRE. That way, while the HRE title is your secondary title, you can destroy it.
Still, that still makes the former HRE vassals your vassal, now only pissed-off vassals (who will promptly unite in a faction war of one reason or another).

another method is to hope for a scenario where every single vassal revolts for independence, and the emperor now only has his demesne, wherein he is promptly conquered in various wars BEFORE he dies and an heir is elected among the independent de jure vassals. With the emperor losing his last county, the imperial title goes with it.

I think that if you can take every territory in the emperor's personal demesne, that should also destroy the HRE title.

That's why you need to grab his demesne all in one war. Which can be either hard or next to impossible.

Assassinating rarely helps. If the HRE does descend into mass rebellion, those Kings and Dukes are usually fighting to overthrow the Emperor, not for independence.

I've once seen the HRE completely dissolve. I don't want what happened but all nations inside the HRE got independence and I swear that they we're not in a civil war. I played Denmark so I snatched up a few parts of Germany before I quit

Thanks for your advises. It ended up with a bit of everything. After some chain assassination, wars, excommunication, they actually ended up with heretic kid on the throne. That was the final nail in the coffin. HRE is now nothing more than 4 counties and 2 duchies. Lets see if i bother to make the empire completely dissolve. It will at least now never bother me again.
