then why is there no mention of reduced stab for Spain? :confused:

Why the hell is Russia the only one in the Muslim techgroup, whilst both Poland and OE are in Orthodox techgroup with the rest of Europe.

Now, I can understand it for Poland, since they had the Union only this session, but the OE, against who's techgroup in Souls of Iron (it being the same as that of the rest of Europe) some of you strongly protested, I have no clue :s

The Union, afaik, represents a focus away from Europe, and as Europe is the "tech center", moving away means a techgroup down.

And then there's balance issues..

Not only that, but playing Delhi, Vijayanagar or such a country does not really help you learn MP.. it's essentially an SP game until someone wants your CoT or whatever it is that is valuable.

I seem to recall a few wars involving the Dutch, the English, and the French in the late 17th century (IRL), compared to that, this is a very consistent policy.

Barnius don't use Artillery untill LT35... unless you have a VERY secure, yet very difficult, siege.

Other than that, run away from my armies, and engage those of the rest :D

ok, crash course for the differences between land and naval combat.

1) instead of one type of warship, there's two. so-called "infantry" that works well in forests, swamp, mountains, and so-called "cavalry" that works well on plains and in deserts. Essentially, the idea is that you have more of the right type in the province (land equivalent of a seazone) than your enemy does.

2) instead of a penalty for being at sea for months, you get penalised for being in enemy territory, or being with too many in your own land.

3) instead of having lost after one engagement, you actually have a chance to build more warships and try again.

I don't think I used the word Gangbang to describe the attack on Russia.

However, superior manpower, superior leaders, and 3 men watching over things compared to only one, make it somewhat *frustrating* to be attacked time and again by the same bunch of countries. [heck, at one time I attacked I attacked some Polish army -in my land- with almost double the amount of cavalry, a shock 5 leader.. and left the province with a few hundred.... Poland is INCREDIBLY strong, or incredibly lucky.. which doesn't *at all* make them a nice country to fight against :rolleyes: ]

And Russian colonisation has stagnated, too :( (no money, and I really couldn't keep an eye on 2.5 fronts and the corridor)

Just to clarify (hopefully) my position on the issue of Swedish(+Danish)-Polish cooperation vs. Russia.

Firstly, I'm having a lot of fun fighting.

However, there ARE a few minor irritations.
1) No matter what I try, the only way I might be breaking up this alliance (non-signed, but pretty obvious :p) is giving up land or other rather large concessions,or so it seems.
2) despite claims to the contrary, Russia isn't all that strong.. and I have been on the verge of collapsing a few times. While I'll admit that the ingame-numbers are not all that much in favour of my enemies as I portray it at times, the superior CONTROL and SUPERVISION because of it being atleast 2 human players against one, which seems to be conveniently forgotten :rolleyes:
3) lack of variation :p Sweden's sole aim seems to be to get provinces off of Russia, Poland's sole aim seems to be to keep Russia from any advance whatsoever. Whereas both could be doing something else for a change. (a Crusade against the Turk [While Barnius has been defeated by Austria, he's certainly still an interesting opponent], getting some colonies, fighting out a religious conflict, that sort of stuff)
And while I enjoy war, a lot, I wouldn't mind watching colonists moving from Moscow through the corridor for a while...
