Tangiers looks particularly yellow- this smells like a Spain going into Africa (and likely farther than just north Africa)

OOC - the Med treaty is excessive - I really don't think any reasonable Spain would hand over 7 European provinces (5 to Portugall, 2 to Venice)/ Even if it is because of Tangiers new found importance in the latest beta patch, it still feels very game. Generally I think such deals should be limited to one province per player in Europe (which is historical).

it does indeed seem a HUGE change, hardly one Spain would accept (hell, they fought for EIGHTY years to prevent the loss of 4 provinces...)

also, to avoid any confusion that might occur.

The treaty between myself and the Ottoman Empire settling the Georgian question, while by some interpreted as also including WP with Sweden/Poland, IMO is just what it says- a treaty between Vasili of Muscowy(/Russia) and the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.
Now, some have hinted that the OE intends not to accept this peace afterall, but in that case I'm gone. (unless, that is, he first signs peace on the conditions agreed, THEN redows, in which case it's the same as breaking an ingame treaty)
EDIT: Obviously, I would still be very much upset, but atleast then it's played "fair" according to the (my) rules.

plus even then if i were in game and would of said "i accept peace" just said it but never acted on it...would that not be the same? people change their minds, allow them too ffs.

It's bad enough with a 'fake war', even worse than with edits. If this was just one or two provinces, I wouln't mind so much (or if they were colonies, that would be perfectly acceptable) It really does lessen my enjoyment in playing EU2 when I see such 'deals'.

agreed... now if there was some AWESOME RP about it, that would perhaps change my opinion...

any nation giving up more than say 1 european province would need BIGTIME reasons for it.. especially for core territory.

Basically, I , too, don't really like the deal as far as I have knowledge of it...
A big war is fought in the east over one province (in essence) while in the west, huge areas of land are transferred without as much as a hint as to why Spain would want to give up so much of her core territories.. (not to mention they should've been Aragonese still, or did that date pass *very* recently?)

OK- just to clarify what exactly happens to the Northern war (as far as I know).

SWE and DEN sign White Peace.
POL and MOS/RUS sign White Peace.
TUR takes Sochi off GEO.
MOS/RUS takes Lugansk off TUR.
MOS/RUS and SWE sign White Peace. (EDITED, forgot this one)
MOS/RUS Diplo-annexes GEO at the earliest opportunity.*
TUR then takes Georgia off MOS/RUS.

TUR agrees not to go north off Kerch/Kaffa/Sochi/Georgia
MOS/RUS agrees not to go for those provinces, or any south of them.

* in the unfortunate event Georgia declines and cancels vasalisation, Russia takes all leftover provinces in war, after which OE will take Georgia itself.

I would say there isn't so the Russian player must have a special knack for doing this.

I got a boatload of -2 stab +4 RR events... not pretty when trying to subdue the Swedes... (in the end, Iberian funding proved to be too much )

You can say that again. It's refreshing news having to fight for ones survival as Sweden but it's still Russia and not Denmark that's the deadliest threat. I guess it's ok balancewise but from a historical viewpoint it's not very correct.

I think that's more because Denmark is too weak than because Russia is too strong (although this Russia expanded a little more than the historical)


But I'm glad I kept Sweden from hyperteching too much, yet

Spain Will fall, or be humbled.

Poland will lose her Cot, And be humbled, and will have to obey the sultan.

BB will not be able to count on Austrian Protection anymore. :wacko:

Russia will have a tough time with the sultan, and all her other enemies. o

Sweden Won't be able to count on Spanish gold anymore, Because spain will be buzzy fighting France, or paying it.

Puzzling... what other enemies would be attacking me? Sweden doesn't get Spanish gold anymore, Poland is humbled, OE has already been mentioned... so who is the mysterious 4th enemy?

Humbled means, that they won't be able to do anything against the sultan, not that they are dead.

if they're humbled, they would be hard-pressed to wage anything remotely succesfull against Russia

but I think I still prefer that Austria loses some of it's manus
