Austria got a hugh advantage with Frundesburg early, KJ used it wisely when he attacked France over and over again and demanded cash from them. That means that france was forced to mint money to pay Austria and lost importent time to build troops and invest in tech. Thus Austria attacked again when the money was paid and forced him to pay once more
KJ's attempt to do the same with OE did however not succeed. It was many years wasted there for austria with lots of casualties. Thus the sultan accepted early to cede Cyprus but the greedy Archduke wanted more.
After heavy losses of ships by Venice they offered a seperate peace.
Thus, Austria was chased back to Austria with only 7K troops remaining including Fundesburg.
Anyway, Impressive work KJ.
Remember, all of the wars were either provoked or started by France
. The first one, because they attacked my dear friends the Spanish. In the second, they actually DOW'd me when I tried to bring some order to the northern HRE, and the third Venice DOW'd, and I merely supported in making the French leave Italy and break their vassalage with Helveta. And the money was only demanded to cover my expenses. If I wanted to really cripple France I could've take some provinces .

Heh, please people don't forget what happened in DBD1. Devil apparently used his propoganda to turn attention on other nations while he became an uber trader and ultimately the most powerful nation in the world. He's already the richest in this game, and has a deal to get more Italian islands from Spain. Wait til his trade tech improves more and he's got some Eastern cots under his palm. Then all the trader nations will really be in trouble, or at the ones that aren't in his pocket by that time

They are trade manu's, but I'm not investing in trade atm anyway. Austria gets like 5 income from trade, which is nothing compared to Port's monster income. Don't forget my DOTF title slows down teching 15 percent as well.
As for power on the continent, I've lost Frunsburg. The OE has Suleyman now, and France will probably get some good leaders soon. What will I get? A chance at a good random leader, but that's it. My war capacities are no better than theirs, but with lower mp, more expensive troops and a couple inferior leaders, they're going to be worse for a long time, especially if the OE and France decide to cooperate with each other.
If these lies about Austrian being so powerful become accepted, I think this bastion that stands in the way of uber France and OE may fall, and if that happens the rest of Europe will have to somehow deal with these powers. Do you want that? You should hope that I can continue to hold on, if Europe is to remain free.

My inflation is super high, my troops is a bunch of demorolized woman, and my income is plain pathetic.
Austria and Venice is however more or less controling Europe at this time, i think the stats speak for itself
The Habsburgs+Venice is very powerful, thus a weak OE and a weak France is the only one who can stop them...

No, Venice is only a naval power, our generals are regulars, and our income has to go for a large part to our navy.
We are full naval ...
And why do they have to be stopped ?, We are in no way controlling europe, we are in no way interferring in other nations diplomacy, we are in no way warmongering europe like rabid wardogs, we ask money for defensive wars and our small claims.

I Think its obvious for everyone that we are trying, and succeeding only a bit, to keep the expansionist nations in OE and France at bay.
And I think that if we had failed, and if we didn't Pre-Emtitively stricked the OE, And kept the French out of italy and the HRE; Other nations would pay for our failure now.

Puzzling... what other enemies would be attacking me? Sweden doesn't get Spanish gold anymore, Poland is humbled, OE has already been mentioned... so who is the mysterious 4th enemy?

. As far as we see it in Paris today, Austria is the pariah state of Europe and has lost any chance of a diplomatically reasonable France due to her frundsburg oppurtunism . Her time of glory has come and passed.

Should I stand and do nothing when you try to seize provinces like Savoy and vassalize parts of the HRE like Helveta without even talking to me, or Venice? This isn't exactly diplomatic behavior, and shouldn't be expected to generate a "diplomatic" response. Though, I'll admit that Frunsburg probably has been one of the most effective diplomats in the game so far

So far, we've managed to keep our economies intact despite the wars. That's all though, we haven't expanded wantonly into enemy territory, or vassalized France or the OE or asked for anything we didn't have a fair claim to.
It's peaceful building up of infrastructure and industry within our countries that you complain about, if you're complaining about the advantage we have over you. Are you saying you disapprove of our internal growth, or are frustrated because you simply haven't been able to do the same with your economies?
It sounds like you shouldn't have dragged those wars out so long . If you want to gain parity with us on an economic level, I suggest you not cause wars you can't afford to fight for at least a few decades so you can recover. Then you can be the full military menace that you've wanted to become, and I suppose fight all the bloody wars you want, though we'll still try to stop you .

Two vital points require stating. One your ally was the first state to take advantage of your protective :wacko: "umbrella" of the HRE. Venice attacked those same states far earlier and when you saw that you had another excuse to hit on France again a year or two before frundsburg died you requested veneto to Dow France.
Two: Your diplomatic finesse so far consists of two things. Austria: "what are you doing". France: "taking Savoie as a penalty for their attack". Austria: "............" (silence). A turn or two later veneto attacks. Nice attempt to discuss matters kj. I also tried to talk to venice over the situation and he never responded. The international community doesn't buy Austria's farfetched excuses to its aggression. It is a simple as - when we have the slightest advantage attack without provocation. This form of power politics has been taking to heart in Paris
, as we study the book - "The Duke" by Frundsburg intensly.
