After I finished the Echocall crossing I went back to the Disfavored camp in order to complete the quest "forge-bound iron". But I can't get into the camp. The gates are closed and I can't initiate a dialogue with guards. There is also a trader being roughed up by soldiers which I met when I got here first and again I can't initiate dialogue with them (only "let me see your wares). The location itself is covered by the black fog of war as if wasn't there before. I'm not sure if I will be able to progress the main plot without getting into the camp. So what should I do, restart the game, continue and hope for the best or wait a couple months until the game is in a working condition (as I probably should have done in the first place)?

My apologies that you are experiencing this issue with the game. Could I ask you a quick question first and I hope you don't mind minor spoilers, but did you choose an Archon to side with before all of this happened? Or was this before you decided to side with one of the Archons?

That would be extremely useful to us!

Also as a quick question, do you know if you had two versions of the client open when this issue occurred?

Sorry for the late reply... I reloaded the save from the very beginning and it seemed to progress without problems but I encountered somewhat similar (at least I think it's similar) problem later in the game: when I fast travel to the Mountain Spire the teleporter is inactive (just as it was when I first got there) so I can't go anywhere from the Spire.

This bug was present before I went to the Echocall crossing, so I think it was before the Archons choice.

For some reason I'm unable to upload those files via the forum's "upload a File" button. I can see the files in the Windows explorer, but when I try to upload it, the folder appears to be empty. I could send it in some other way...

I'm not sure if it's relevant but I have a feeling that it may have something to do with me minimising the game using alt-tab combination on the loading screen. A few times when I did it, the game simply crashed, but then one time when I did it something really weird happened: characters portraits were replaced with large red "X" signs and there were some issues with controls (it was more than a week ago so I don't remember all the details). After I exited the game and reloaded the last save, everything seemed to be in order and then the Disfavored camp was closed (at least I think it happened after that. Although nothing like that happened before I encountered the "Spire bug".

Currently the only way to correct this issue would be to be able to get a copy of your save, so using a file sharing program such as Dropbox would be probably be the best course of action, although I believe the save game files should be able to be uploaded to the forums. If not that is also alright, and we could take a look at your output log to see if there is something there that gives us an indication of the problem. You can find the output log at \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Tyranny\Tyranny_Data\output_log.txt

I'd like to add to this since I now have the same issue, and having to redo everything I've done up to this point is really removing any desire I have to continue playing :/

The case is the same: It seems that the game has 'reset' the maps I had visited (I can see the merchant arguing with the disfavored, even though I resolved that. The disfavored gates are closed, but the guards won't talk to me. In the scarlet chorus camp, quiet shiv and her rival were at it again despite having killed one another earlier. And a lot of the lootable containers were refreshed, i.e. they contained loot again even though I had previously looted them). I did not notice this until much too late, leaving me no save to return to.

As for the question of whether there were two clients open: For some reason, when I was loading my save and alt-tabbed (accidentally), for some reason the game opened a *second* client at the main menu.

Save file included.

I do have another playthrough I've yet to start so there's no particular rush, but a 'fix' would be appreciated (I don't mind if I have to edit a few files to 'trick' my quest progress temporarily to trigger the guard dialog or some such, though I can understand that this may not be possible since it might create entirely different conflicts)

My apologies that you have had this experience while playing Tyranny. I see from your save file that you are in fact experiencing the same issue that a few other users have experienced when they have multiple instances of the game open.

I have specifically quoted a particular workaround for this issue, but at the cost of not getting achievements, due to the fact that it requires console commands.

@Grokh, @Azelis, & @Moongar, thank you for the info.

This appears to be an issue of having multiple versions of the client running at the same time (and overwriting each others data). This clearly is not something that was intended, and we do have some things in place that are supposed to stop a second client from running when a first is already started.

If there is any other information you can provide on how multiple clients were able to be started (and which platform you were using, steam, GoG, Origin) we will try to see what can be done to stop this from occurring in the future.

After speaking with one designers, we were able to find a way to forcefully open the gate for the scene. A couple words of warning though:
  1. Using this command (and any other commands after using iroll20s, will disable earning achievements for that progression)
  2. This is putting the game in a weird state, so we can't be certain nothing else will go wrong on this playthrough, but we suspect it should be fine
  3. You may have to enter the tent, leave it, then enter it again in order to progress.
Knowing that, here's the commands:
  1. Open the console by press the ` key, and pressing enter
  2. type 'iroll20s' and press enter (This enables cheats and disables achievements)
  3. type sealopen AGO_Main_Palisade_Gate_Door true
This should open the gate, and let you enter. I know this is not a perfect solution, and do apologize for that.

Again I am terribly sorry this happened to your playthroughs, and would be very appreciative of any info you can provide that helps us stop this from happening to others.
