Thanks for replying, here is what i have to say:
The problem with this province is that it is surrounded by four German provinces (when the historical boundary is reached), which makes the odds favour the attacker too much, and therfore the German AI automaticly goes for it. Only setting fortress as high as 8 makes Germany concentrate on it less (but not completely forget it).
It's just my opinion though. IMHO it is a good way to make Germany starve to death if the war takes too long. The "relief from the east" events can do the opposite - add industrial capacity to random provinces.
Here is a good article about the effects of British economic blockade in the Great War:

BTW, the supply loss events fire even if I get total superiority in the sea, which is also quite unrealistic. How about making British AI concentrate it's ships in certain sea provinces and then just checking if these provinces have British ships garrisoned in them or not? I havn't tested it by myself yet, but it would be much more realistic if it worked.
PS: another suggestion: plz don't have RusFederation join allies. Sometimes German forces adavance really far into Russia when the october revolution happens. As a result, when RusFed pops up and joins allies, Germans are already there to intervene  . I think there is no need to have RusFed join allies, or at least not so quickly so that Germans armies have time to go back to Germany.
That's how it works for me. I set initial fortress level in nancy at 8, which during the trench warfare grows up to 11. Germans still try to attack it quite frequently, but usually not before they capture Paris.she would eventually attack everywhere, but give massive emphasis to Belgium.

How come? I am using HOI v1.06 and these commands work perfectly! The only thing that worries me about these events is that AI sometimes groups a couple of divisions into one unit, which causes more divisions to be removed than those created. But in the beginning they seem to work OK, since the divisions are mostly ungrouped. Once again, I know these events are far from perfect but seeing how long it takes for Germans to capture Belgium and how they and the French then stand at the Belgian border simply pisses me offhowever, the -1 command doesn't actually work in HOI
Yeah, divisions are not being created from nowhere. Since the -1 command works for me (i tested it), Germany loses as many, or even more divisions than it gains.but thirty four seems far too many, and essentially undermines the 'Mobilisation' events made for Germany.
Thanks If you see that Germany is still attacking in the west when the eastern AI is on, just increase the passivity value for France in the German eastern AI. For me "FRA = 60" works well enough though.Implemented
Thanks for info. Truly I never heard about those. She had fortresses at Osovets, Ostrolenka, Novo Georgievsk on the German border and fortresses at Ivangorod, Lutsk and Rovno facing Austria-Hungary.
Maybe, how many of those are there? As far as i remember there are six or seven. Not sure if that's enough, although it's a nice idea.Simpler still - reduce manpower along with trench warfare events.
Yeah, i know it's a little unrealistic to reduce the industrial capacity, but the dissent hit and the supply loss that these events cause really doesn't make affect Germany or Britain pretty much at all. At least when I played Germany, I completely ignored these events by just keeping a little more idustry focuced on consumer goods than usually. Even if you give more dissent hit for Germany, it will still be more than able to fight the war even in 1920. Though AFAIK the German industry did suffer a lot from the lack of raw materials. Since in HOI Germany produces enough coal and iron to supply itself, which is quite unrealistic because in real life Germany was much more dependant on trade, the only way to force German player to consider making peace with Soviet Russia and rushing to conquer France as soon as possible is to continuously decrease industrial capacity. As blockade afflicted the consumption of food and national cohesion rather than industrial production, it would probably be better (and more realistic) to increase the dissent hit, not reduce the country's industrial capacity
