Are we to assume that states (as referred to in the screenie) are a grouping of 'provinces' (i.e. a region as told by Johan, iirc)?

and is that high sea and river boat convoys I see there?

A couple of questions (not that I really expect them to be answered but one could hope):

Why does Maine have a higher population than Massachusettes, if thats what the little guy figure represents?
(9 for Maine and 6 for Mass. )

Does having a Steamer give you something different in a convoy than having a clipper?

I'm sorry but I don't know about the pop count and why it is like that. Best answer is that the game is still in development and that all data isn't final.

Steamers are faster and can carry more.

Patric, I assume either there's a scenario from 1836 or the pic was taken right after starting a save game. Is that right or does the AI frequently makes alot of alliances?

This is just a test scenario with no historical accuracy.

Aha, I just wondered if the AI makes alliances that quickly. That's why I wondered if the test scenario started on January 1st 1836 though I understandt that the AI isn't totaly ready yet .
