just wrote an E-mail to Aftonbladet and two lifestyle magazines depicting Paradox, the games and the forums. I included a link to this great review. I urged them to make not only a review of the game but also an article about Paradox.

Ha,ha and you know what Aftonbladet will do now, copy the review and print it
;)

Nice move though, seems like we have to help wiuth the marketing in every way we can with this game :)

Yep. That´s what I´m thinking too. I guess I did my little part to help. Now, I´m trying to convince my bonehead friends to try out something a bit more complicated than Colin McRae... :(

Yeah, that and
Managing two or three provinces each with a couple of areas is far more doable than jumping right into managing Russia or (god forbid) Britain.
makes me reconsider playing USA in my first game; perhaps a quiet corner of Europe could be nice? Sweden-Norway, here I come!

Mental note to self:

I noted that the review mentions a 1881 scenario, which I haven't seen mentioned before.

From the screenshots:
- What is the deal with California, 46,7 % Nationality: Yue, Religion: Mahayana?!
- That blue and white flag with the Portugese coat of Arms is Portugal, right?

Yue is a chinese ethnicity.
Mahayana is a variant of buddhism.
Thats the portugese flag of the 19th century.

Make sure you buy your significant other something nice before you install it.

Ha! He jokes, but I've often used this tactic myself. I've learned that it's really hard for her to complain about me spending five hours straight playing a game if I brought home flowers and a bottle of wine for dinner. And I can usualy ride it for about a week. Good investment, I'd say! :D

You can?!?

:D

You can't expect people to read the manual, especially if they have played HOI and are accustomed to how much use the manual is there..... And after all, the Vicky manual is anemic ;)

:) Rafiki

PS: what does "anemic" mean, actually?

Argentina was quite a power in SA in this period. Hardly a GP, but with good leadership... ;)

Surely, but ... a Great Power? They must have involved themselves in a few successful wars to warrant that, no? What are they going to do, hurl their abundance of cattle at their enemies, conquering the South American continent through The Power of Beef? ;)
