hi boss.

Business alcohol is fine, it's deep, but the rest is just a side dish.

Missing masculine characters

There is no intrigue, spies, betrayals, someone who tells you everything about enemies with a few dollars, or some corrupt politician who puts a spanner in the works of rivals.

Missing the possibility that your underbosses decide to plot to subvert your power when they don't get their bellies back too. (Style ck2)

There is no port to manage for '' elite '' bosses, who controls the port controls everything that enters and leaves, '' do you want to use the port? well, pay me the lace. ''

There is no real intimidation: you have to pay me the protection money, otherwise I'll put a bomb with a scene on the screen.

There is a lack of a hierarchical branch, a riunione between family members to decide the next move and a commission of all the most powerful bosses to discuss the problems with diplomacy.

There is no drug for elite bosses, with the various opium, heroin, hemp, which can be refined and sold as an example distillery for alcohol.

There is no smuggling of weapons, cigarettes.

There is a lack of legitimate business to clean up money, hotels, legal casinos, banks, legal construction such as shopping facilities, bars, villas, spas, car dealerships, jewelry stores, and clothing stores.

it's just the empire of alcohol. a dlc with a golden gun and some clothes is not enough.

It is hard to say what mod's I'd like to see since (1) I have not played the game yet and (2) we have no idea how modding will be implemented and to what degree.
If the sky is the limit, I'd say it would be great to mod what city the game takes place in. Also would be great to determine what the empty buildings contain...could we add businesses to them to take over/extort, etc? Could we add a political layer and try to run the city mayor or council? More types of operations (criminal businesses like bookie joints, drug dens, cock fights, loan sharks, etc?) I'd like to see the ability to add plot lines like "find the snitch" or "who's ripping off the boss?" that would require chasing down clues and discovering secrets. Maybe special characters like private eyes who interfere with our deals or try to expose our operations. Police informers and undercover officers pretending to be part of our mobs. Easy mods would include special weapons or even new skills to be learned. Of course we'd always like to see more mob bosses and gang members to choose from, both historical and made up. On a strategic layer, we could have a level that connects different cities and shows the deals made between them, trade and gang wars. Maybe a way to use notoriety to gain public favor that can be translated into either political power or popularity such that you get a "get out of jail free card." The best of all possible mods would be one that allowed family dynasties to be created and nurtured over time. But such a game would involve decades, say from the 20's to the 60's when organized crime evolved into something else entirely, as by then it had infiltrated government, business, etc and tried to blend in, often successfully. I guess the ultimate mod would be one that simulated The Godfather trilogy of film, or something like that.

If you had the chance, which mod would you like to introduce in Empire of Sin?

Mines would be a set of historical events, happening in specific dates or period of times during the gameplay, mirroring some real events that happened in Chicago, Illinois and in the USA itself in the years between 1920 and 1933 (the beginning and the end of the Prohibition). Some of these events would just be facts of no importance to gameplay, but most of them would be multiple-choices events with every choice influencing the game, the player finances and the relationship with the other gangs and bosses. Other events I would like to see would be events that give you the chance to alter History (for example, giving food, shelter and a job to Bonnie and Clyde, de facto recruiting them, or for Al Capone, have the chance to pay the federal taxes so the police has less way too bring you in arrest).

What do you think? If you would be able to create mods for Empire of Sin, what you would like to add to the game considering what you know about it right now?
A mod can replace the % to hit to a "armor" because missing with 95% often if are very unluck break your nerverves

I would love a character creation, it could be a bogus character, considering that if you kill Al Capone, history is incorrect anyways. I would love to play as the lady on the loading screen on the left.

Enough of the wishlisting. How modable is the game?

It just came out so we don't really know yet. The developers did say it will be extremely moddable though. However, I'm not sure if they need to release a mod kit to allow modders to start or if everything that is needed is already available.

I create mods for other Paradox games (like EU4, CK3), but haven't checked out EoS yet to see how easy it is.

That's good news. I really like the game so far. I see it's issues and limitations at the moment but between the dev team which has created a fun game and modders if there ends up being a good community I could see great things.

So I pulled myself from the game to just take a quick peek. It is actually set up similar to a lot of Paradox games. They are lua files for their scripts. So creating new missions is actually pretty easy for example. Even creating new factions, at least script-wise is pretty easy, but the textures, sprites and such are in bundle files so you will need an appropriate program to open.

Hi,
Have you tried anything? I attempted to modify these Lua files in GameData_Win64~, but no matter what I do, nothing changes in the game. Did anyone manage to mod the game?

No, I haven't tried anything yet. I'm waiting for the game to be patched to make it a bit more stable before looking into it further.

I think that the most important thing is able to create your custom character which will fight all those legendary gangsters.
Also if you play some time you will notice that every boss have their own unique weapon, but when you choose boss to play, he will not have it. I think it is stupid.
Also now when you start new game, all bosses are particularly on same growth lvl. That's mean that in the early beginning you don't need to use diplomacy. It will be cool to have some challenge. For example you start campaign with really strong bosses in the beginning, so you need to communicate with them to be able make your empire.
Also it is strange to me that some bosses which just came in city start on same lvl of industry with those who already make their name in city and already can speak with mayor. I mean when player start campaign. It is really strange for me.

So, mods which will fix this stuff will be really good for the game.

Personally, i'd like to see a possibility to make a custom gangster, not a boss, but one of the people we bring with us. I know there's going to be a big loophole, where people could make them WAY overpowered, but the only thing we have right now is changing their name. but there's also an issue of the gangsters having backstories, so that might make it harder also...

Actually, and again I caveat this that we don't have modding tools yet so we don't know exactly how everything will be, but making a custom gangster may be easier to do than a boss. A boss has cutscenes with animations and voice acting. It may be easy enough to duplicate voice and animations in a custom boss, but it is still limited. Creating new voice and animations may be possible but the difficulty will be determined later.

As for gangsters, I actually think that will be easier. They are not unique besides appearance, who they love/hate, and backstory. Love/hate and backstory should all be relatively easy to do honestly. Creating missions for them will also be easy to do based on their backstory. The appearance of the gangster may actually be the most difficult part.

The developers wants to make this game extremely moddable but I have no idea how deep that statement really is. Moddable in the sense of being able to create new missions and tweak other minor gameplay (police for example)? Or will we will be able to easily create new factions, bosses, and other characters? We will have to see, but I'm cautiously optimistic and excited for the possibilities.

You forgot the most important color 'Orange'. ;)

Will the DLC allow you to chase Mo Green out to the Tropigala in Vegas, or are you pursuing his childhood friend, Meyer Lanksy, to the Nacionale in Cuba in preparation for Operation Mongoose?

How will you build that Secret Regime around Rocco Lampone?

Will Al Neri leave the police force and become your Luca Brasi?

Leading to the BIG question - at which point will Empire of Sin allow us to take a boat to dump a body and let it Sleep with the Fishes?

(BTW, Charlie Luciano's colors were yellow and black. I don't think he'd appreciate being downgraded to the Tattaglia family's sigil bearer.)
