If you had the chance, which mod would you like to introduce in Empire of Sin?

Mines would be a set of historical events, happening in specific dates or period of times during the gameplay, mirroring some real events that happened in Chicago, Illinois and in the USA itself in the years between 1920 and 1933 (the beginning and the end of the Prohibition). Some of these events would just be facts of no importance to gameplay, but most of them would be multiple-choices events with every choice influencing the game, the player finances and the relationship with the other gangs and bosses. Other events I would like to see would be events that give you the chance to alter History (for example, giving food, shelter and a job to Bonnie and Clyde, de facto recruiting them, or for Al Capone, have the chance to pay the federal taxes so the police has less way too bring you in arrest).

What do you think? If you would be able to create mods for Empire of Sin, what you would like to add to the game considering what you know about it right now?

I like your mod idea, but I'm not sure exactly if it could actually work within the game. Your topic idea is fun to think about but since we still have so much unknown about this game, it may be difficult to really ascertain what type of mods could actually work.

If the rumors are true and the game play is pretty quick (e.g. small map), one of the main mods I would like to see is larger maps that pushes game play longer. I think any mod that can potentially make the game a bit more like the original Gangsters would be worthwhile. I'd love to see more business (illegal and legal) choices.

For example?

Well, from what I've read so far for the game, we are going to have distilleries/breweries to make your alcohol, speakeasies, brothels, and casinos. I've only read once that protection racket and union skimming may be included. That's a solid lineup especially if the latter two are included. However, it doesn't speak about any of the legitimate businesses that you would potentially have as fronts. It would be interesting to see how they incorporate fronts within the game.

But to answer your question, I would love to see a variety of gambling joints. They have casinos but back then, that typically would be more for higher clientele. I'd love to see card games, numbers racket, or dice games included that would be for lower-income participants. But the big two that I really believe they're missing are prizefights (illegal fighting) and loan sharking. Loan sharking was such a key business even back during prohibition when booze was the biggest draw.

Diffrent culture gangs, Chinese, latin, ect, and magic and martial arts.

It is a wounderful idea, but I believe that to add magic it would require a new DLC or a totally new game. We can still imagine a Mod who changes to setting from Chicago to Los Angeles or San Francisco, where the presence of Chinese or Japanese communities was bigger. The fact is, I still hope to see it as an official DLC, maybe paired with a New York setting with Lucky Luciano...

I have no experience with moding so I have no idea how hard these things are to implement.

I cannot say it until the game is out, but I believe it depends on the mod's complessity. A Mod to add events and/or characters should be easier to do than one mod to add a new location and new things that are actually not in-game. I mean, this does not mean that we will never see such a thing. I believe it can be done. However, I believe it will also a very hard work..

They already said game is created like mod and that many totally different things can be adapted. They mentioned Cthulhu based mod, so I think it could be possible :)

Well, if they do a Gotham-based MOD, I'll be one of the first to get it. Especially if you can create a racket like Bane, Harley Quinn, the Joker, the Mad Hatter, or Warren White...

I hope to see a Big Trouble Little China mod. Would be neat.

Good news: the presence of the Chinese Mafia (or Triad) was confirmed in yesterday's video.

Changing the location MOD would be a great idea. I know Canada was busy making liquor for export to the usa during this time as my great grandfather ran whiskey across the border! My father helped package it and once had to drive the old tin lizzy (Model T) to the pick up point at only 11 y.o.

I think business that might aid in money laundering would be nice, as well as the ability to rob businesses. Perhaps the ability to frame another faction for your actions, which can eventually lead to a war between different factions.
