Discontent Under Deck III: Spooky Version

19:05 - Soren Henrickson, wishing to find his lost boy, looks for his son Christian
19:08 - Christian Henrickson, not wanting to be found by his father, actively hides from Soren.
19:09 - Nate Fairbanks, either due to a lack of anything better to do or a lack of pharmaceuticals, buries Jimmy.
19:39 - Bethany Duffield, following the burying of Jimmy, preaches loudly at the others, people can listen if they want I guess.
19:56 - Fred Wilson, braving the elements, manages to shoo the birds (hundreds of them) from the Clubhouse, and only lost a pint of blood from the claw gashes in the process! Jinkies!
20:00 - Jonah Reyes finds that all the birds have migrated into the parking lot thanks to Wilson's shooing, and are now camped on his car.

Christian now alone in the cabin him and his brother shared takes out his knife as he begins to search through his room where Jimmy died, cutting up the mattress and the entire area to try and see if he can find anything.

Truly the most dutiful and sincere prayers to the Lord had helped in driving away the bird scourge, thought Bethany Duffield, as she watched the winged black demons flying away. However, the demons still held two captives, and it was time to find and save them before it was too late. It was time to form a proper search party. But first there had to prayers for its success.

Fred Wilson sees Bethany forming a search party, and mentally agreed it was a good idea. She could be helpful too, she was a fellow warrior against the dreaded crows. Fred decided to join the search and add some official capacity to it with his position as staff.

20:01 - A rescue party is formed from Wilson, Whiterose, Farbanks, Duffield, and informally Soren (who is only looking for his son).
20:21 - Bossard locks himself in cabin, crying like the decadent Frenchman he is.
20:31 - Rescue party finds Nancy, covered in blood and wielding a tire iron, who explains she fended off the Biker who tried to kill her.
20:39 - Moans are heard coming from the direction of Frog Pond. Less the fun version and more the scary version.
20:44 - Simon tries to drink some booze, but this is a camp. He therefore drinks some mouthwash and falls asleep.

Are you sure he was a biker? You sure he didn't he speak Russian or Vietnamian? I did a tour in Vietnam and let me tell you lady that biker sounds like them Viet Congs the boys told me about at the station. You see I worked at the gas station refilling staff cars, sometimes pumping tires, but if one of them Viet Congs ever attacked our station we had a rifle hidden under a bench that fell off of one them trucks and one of those rocket launchers too, though we had no rockets for it, but Chief, he was our boss, he said that if you filled a can with petrol and stuffed it down one of them it'd be like a napalm gun. We tried it once but we couldn't find any cans that weren't leaky. We could have bashed those Viet Congs though, if they ever got that far. You see, they operated in forests, just like this man you speak of. I say we call the President and let him know that the Japs are at it again; we beat them twice now we can beat'em a third time God damn.

”The claims of Mr. Farbanks might indeed have some truth in them. Those godless communists are truly just agents of the devil! I still remember how they killed my John… I have never got over it! Mr. Farbanks, we must alarm the relevant authorities at once! The False Lord Beelzebub has sent all sorts of demons, communists, blackbirds and what else to haunt us patriotic God-fearing Americans!”

Bethany Duffield turned to look at Nancy, who was still covered in blood.

“Oh my dear little girl! Have you hurt yourself? Badly? We must immediately check those wounds, and as we wish to act like proper and respectable Christians, that task befalls on me. Don’t worry my child, I used to work in a pharmacy a few decades back… Also you need to tell us more about that presumed communist assailant.”

20:45 - Soren finds Christian hiding in the fishshack with Daniel and a knife.
20:50 - Bethany Duffield treats Nancy, but finds even though she is covered in blood, she has no wound.
20:53 - Farbanks begins ranting about how the Communists are coming, scaring the children and motivating the men.
21:00 - A scream is heard from Frog Pond.
21:07 - Various peoples find Mr. Nathan Parker Clyde dead, half in the pond, his head cracked open and his brain gone.

Fred was getting quite worried. People were dying left and right. Fred decided to go and start looking for Chad, he was missing for a while.

[Order: Find Chad]

"Guys, this is getting real bad. I want more search parties formed for Chad."

The Campers/Staff win!

21:10 - The staff gather the adults to find Chad in an organised search.
21:30 - An adult yells out, having found Chad buried in a shallow grave beneath a log. His distinctive shoe's reflective stickers were seen via flashlight.
21:35 - Realising what happened, the staff run back to find Duffield dead, her gold crucifix hanging out of her eye.
21:37 - Screams and general chaos erupt, as families and staff run around, terrified that the Biker Killer (Nancy) will get them.
21:45 - A gunshot rings out and a scream, as Whiterose shoots Nancy in the shoulder during an attempted assault. Nancy flees and Whiterose pukes.
21:55 - Soren Hendrikson is found and beaten by Nancy with a plastic bat, but is driven off by the gathering mob.
22:00 - The mob corners Nancy in the Fishshop, she takes little Danny hostage.
22:16 - After almost twenty minutes of negotiation, as Nancy prepares to take Danny with her to the afterlife Christian saves his brother's life by stabbing Nancy with the knife.
22:18 - A tourist who is also a doctor pronounces Nancy dead.
23:36 - A hunter brings in a mutated frog-monster, saying that he found it eating the brains of a dying duck.

General Thoughts and Reflections

Game Structure: I think it's fair to say this was the worst DuD. Although people looked forward to the game and the setting, it was quickly found to be without direction. Even with a 'monster' (ty Noco) people quickly became apathetic or confused as disengaged. This game needs to be set in a military or rigid system, or else it will quickly be lost.

Improvements: Be in a setting with a more rigid structure (return to the military).

Game Observations: There are many lol, here are as many as I can think of:

• People quickly stopped sending orders, so there was not much to observe. Which is in and of itself an observation.

Awards:

• Resident Scape Goat: @Noco19 (Chad). (Given to the player who stuff is blamed on [rightly or wrongly] the most)
• Biggest Subversive: @Shynka. (The player most dedicated to subverting the officers through the turns)
• Most Insane: @Sithlent . (The least attached to reality)
• Biggest Brute: @Noco19. (Highest PC kill count)

I agree. This is a werewolf-ish game, and werewolf is exceedingly rigid. It can be great fun to decrease the rigidness and increase RP, but there ought to always be a clear goal to work towards, otherwise people will just turn to being ridiculous like game 2 or doing nothing like this game.
