I must wholeheartedly agree with Lord Durham- while we all appreciate the initiative, it would probably be better served in helping Stroph out, instead of putting down his efforts. Sometime late last year (don't remember when) I helped MrT for one or two months updating the EU2 LibrAARy, and I can tell you it was a TON of work. Even just searching through all of the AARs for the last month can be time consuming and tedious (I also know about that from the OscAARs), but logging ALL of them, including info on country, start date, end date, etc., and then organizing by region, author, finished or not, and on and on... it's enough to make your head spin.

Speaking of which, now that I have the opportunity, I'd like to offer my sincerest thanks and gratitude to Stroph1. Thank you so much for not only taking up the HOI LibrAARy, but also for picking up the OscAARs after I left. I realize that it was rather inconsiderate of me to drop off the face of the earth (twice!) as I did, and I am sorry for that, but sometimes RL can actually get in the way :( Anyway, hopefully sometime over the summer I can help you out a bit with either the LibrAARy or the OscAARs- I really feel that I owe it to you. In fact, let me know when you're doing the next LibrAARy update, and I'll be more than happy to give you a hand in swimming through the great mess of AARs :)

EDIT: Goddamn, turns out Stroph has taken over the EU2 LibrAARy as well! My hat is very much off to you, sir! *Bows low, hat sweeping the floor*

All,

I first read this thread right after it came out last week. I intentionally stayed away from it for a week because I make it a point to not react but to think first.

I have no problem at all with anybody wanting to do his or her own library. In fact, I encourage it. When Apebe put together his own version of the EU2 Library, I thought it was a wonderful effort that worked very well with the existing Library. Each added something to the community.

I did take exception to some of the comments made at the start of this thread. I took these Libraries on because I thought the Library exists to help people navigate through the waves of tales that are here. MrT was unable to continue to do the Library and Moderate and have a life! What is put into this Library is a combination of what is most useful and what can be done in a semi-reasonable amount of time. I personally don't really care much about the visual look. I much prefer that all my effort go into the content and that that content be in a format that can be used. I try very hard to put the most accurate and up-to-date information in the thread. There will be many mistakes -- that is almost impossible to avoid with the amount of stories here. However, I will fix them as you point them out or as I find them on my own.

Between the three Libraries I try and maintain there are over 1400 AAR's out there. Each one I have opened and tried to read some of it to glean what I needed for the Library. Help would be much better then criticism.

When I read what everybody wrote in response to the start of this thread, I was very appreciative. I have always said that the people who participate on these boards are some of the best out there. I have seen little over time to change that image.

AAR Ideas please??!!

Well, after reading some the amazing and not so amazing AAR's in this forum I have been driven to write an AAR of my own. It shall be great (I hope):p and I will use all of my literary (did I spell that right??!! ) skills to do this. I however need a country to do my AAR on. Please help me choose because I don't want to do something that everyone else is doing.

I have decided to do an AAR with, wait for it, AUSTRALIA!!!

yes I know, what a ridiculous idea but hey, I will be with the allies and will take over the world from my secluded little island :)

Watch out, because soon, we will have an AAR on the nation of Australia.

 Another unfinished AAR in the making I fear

I am sure I will finish this though, do not fear, it will be my first ever AAR :D well excited.

HAHA - I am not laughing!

Well, people may HARHAR this BUT, my computer crashed and i lost loads of information and GUESS WHAT!?? HoI was deleted along with a load of other crap that nobody uses.

I was distraught and hurried to re load it and within 40 mins I was playing the game and had once again updated to version 1.4 and the stony road mod. I sighed greatly then realised something was missing! I HAVE NO SAVE FILES LEFT FROM MY OLD GAME GRRRRRRHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

does anybody know how to retreive them (please dont say 'click on the recycle bin' or i will murder you). The reason why i am putting this in the AAR sectino is for the people who may have been reading my 2 AARs can understand what has happend to them, my deepest apologies.

goodbye cruel world!

I can't help ya either. I don't think you can do anything about it. To avoid this happening again, though, is to probably copy the savegame to a disk every 5-10 years or something. Sorry about your games though.
