I was having a manpower problem, and then realized I could disband some of my militia to use the recovered manpower as replacements in my better units.

I then discovered that you get the same manpower from supplied AND unsupplied units. It seems that unsupplied units should only give back a fraction of what a supplied unit gives back.

Well, IMO, manpower is manpower. So, if you disband these units, it's not like these ppl die. They just go back into 'society' I suppose and are therefore available in the future to be drafted into a regular unit that has better training, equipment etc.

I agree that if your units are in supply, you should get the manpower back.

But as for the men going back to society when they were deep in enemy territory cut off from their home country, I think there should be some sort of penalty. Otherwise, the effect of getting cut off is mitigated a bit. If your guys get surrounded and are about to be annhilated by the enemy, you simply go disband them before it happens. Can't say I like that.

A unit has to be pretty isolated to be out of supply. If they are in enemy territory when they are disbanded, they're POW's. It doesn't make sence that any would go back to the manpower in that situation.

I can't see all of them going to manpower, it should be a variable fraction, depending on circumstances.
