Disbanding the HRE ... possible if ally controls one capital?

Hi all,

I've defeated the HRE, pretty much anyway (just need to war dec & clobber Bohemia), & want to disband the HRE.

I've just noticed a potential snag, in that at least one of the elector's capitals is controlled by an ally (a PU ally in fact - which means they'll not make their separate peace if I wait them out).

Well that prevent me disbanding the HRE?

(If yes, then, drat, & I suppose I'll have to leave the HRE in place for an age, if no, then one quick war of aggression on Bohemia & the HRE is history )

If the elector in question is a small nation, you could vassalize them, which would make them count.

Good idea, thanks - I hadn't considered that. Unfortunately though it's actually 2 HRE elector capitals occupied by my PU ally Flanders, plus they're leading the siege of another

I could vassalse all of them - they're OPMs - but 12 Infamy is more than I want to incur. Looks like the HRE will survive for a bit.

I don't know the answer to your question but the game interface should tell you pretty quickly.

If you hover over the button in the HRE interface it lists the electors who are still independent. If you don't see an elector there it means that they are under your control. So, if the electors that your PU partner has occupied are not listed then you shouldn't have a problem. If they are listed then you do.

Just checked ... &, woo hoo! The HRE elector my PU ally has occupied is not independent

So, -2 Stab Hit for non-CB war on Bohemia once the truce expires, & I should be able to dismantle it.

And it's done, the HRE is no more. (There really should be some sort of congrats type message for it though, but nvm).
