I'm concerned about the reason disbanding in enemy territory and at sea causes the regiment to lose all manpower. What does it represent?
If you abandon them deep in enemy territory, I can see that many don't make it back home.
If you just made peace with your neighbour, letting them keep the province, and tell the men to go home, in the next province, do they go AWOL for the rest of their life?
Do the men at sea jump overboard when peace is made? This I see often around the Baltic, when my vassals join the war and I conquer some 1-province pagan. They start shipping their regiments, but I win the war before they make it ashore, and bye bye all men at sea.
