I was just wondering about if there was any penalty to disbanding and redeploying units when they're trained. It seems that disbanding puts all of the manpower and gear back into the stockpile so you could disband recruit level units that you start the game with, retrain them and redeploy them as regulars. This seems like a cheeky way of getting past the 6% attrition while training on the field.

manpower and equipment of disbanded divisions will automaticly transfer to the next best thing. So if you have 2 half strenght divisions and disband one of them they will fill up the other one. Its basicly a way to consolidate your divisions. If there is no need for it it will of course go back into the stockpile if there is a path to the capital. If they are cut off by the enemy you obviously wont be able to retrieve that equipment.

As for experience they will actually keep it. If you disband a unit the least experienced recruits will get back into the manpower pool first, so it will keep as much experience on the field as it can. Same goes if you remove a couple of battalions aswell. The recruits will get back into the manpower pool and the average experience level of the division will increase.

That's pretty sweet. Will future units draw experienced manpower from the pool and have a skip forward in training (assuming some experienced unit has been disbanded / manpower trickle-back)? I had dismissed that idea as too good to be true.

i dont know how they handle experience in the manpower pool, but i would imagine that it would basicly works the same way as if they pulled manpower from a disbanded division directly.

I thought that experience was a bit more gear based. For example if you give your infantry new weapons, they would have to train with them, thus losing a bunch of experience.
Thats only partially true. If you, for example, give your infantry divisions weapon 3 instead of weapon 1 they wont have any affect on the division. If you modified the division heaviely by swapping the infantry for motorized or mechanized on the other hand they will suffer a experience penalty, but wont start as completly green recruits of course.

Off map training can only reach the trained level which is one step below regular level which can only be reached by on map training. On map training do cost equipment but as a compensation you get army experience (the currency for configuring division templates and make tank variants).

Hmm, I thought that off map training could reach regular level. Off map training up to trained could still be worth it for minor nations that cant afford the equipment and wont be building any tank or plane variants. Thanks for clarifying.
