Well maybe a disaster could do it.
From wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanseatic_League
"At the start of the 16th century, the League found itself in a weaker position than it had known for many years. The rising
Swedish Empire had taken control of much of the Baltic. Denmark had regained control over its own trade, the Kontor in Novgorod had closed, and the Kontor in
Bruges had become effectively moribund.
The individual cities which made up the League had also started to put self-interest before their common Hanseatic interests. Finally, the political authority of the German princes had started to grow—and so to constrain the independence of action which the merchants and Hanseatic towns had enjoyed."
So maybe a disaster:
If less than 25% of your total income is trade the disaster would be available, and after a certain year, and not a subject nation.
The disatser would get more +1 if if you have low stability, bad ruler, low religius unity, trade guild not in power and low republican tradition.
When the disaster triggers you will get high revolt risk, +1.5 local autonomy each month. -1 available merchant.
And the only way to stop this, is either becoming a monarchy or nobel republic.
You will get a event chain maybe something like this:
Our towns is no longer loyal:
What should we do?
........
Option 1: Try setting a big family in power.
Option 2: Try convincing the families that a united Hansa is good.
Option 3: Invite a foregin nobel to try to guide our Countiry back to the right track.
Then you would get some more events and what you choose will inpact your new govorment type.
So maybe option 1 would get you towards a monarchy
and option 2 will get you towards nobel republic.
and option 3 a foregin dynasti might land upon you throne.
This would be better than having more of those ridiculous events like "The Burgundian Inheritance."
So the Hansa would survive but not get dissolved. But the disbandement of the Hansa would still be simulated.
