disappearing tech bonuses

Twice today, I encountered an issue with 50% tech bonus. Each time, when I went to use it, the tech screen properly showed the "50%" bonus on the screen, and the number of days for the tech to research was correct. Around 15-30 days later when looking at my tech progress, I saw the tech in question was no longer getting a bonus and was counting down from what must have been the full price of the tech. In each case, the bonus was no longer listed as available. Once was with the 1936 Tactical Bomber, and the second time was with the 1940 Carrier. In both instances, I went back to an earlier save to try and recreate, but was unsuccessful.

I don't recall ever seeing this before. I believe I would have noticed because I use a spreadsheet to map out my research plan. If a tech had finished 60-90 days later than planned, that would have stood out. Have anyone else seen this?

Sounds like there's a few of us who have seen it, so it feels like a bug. I haven't been able to recreate it though, which is often key to identify the root cause.

Have any of you noticed anything in common for when it occurs?
- Has it only been since 1.4? or 1.4.1?
I've only noticed since 1.4.1. I played some beta too, but didn't encounter it there
- Does it only happen with one country? or multiple?
For me, it happened twice with Japan in the same year. My games are long, so I haven't had a chance to try anyone else yet.
- What techs has it affected?
For me, one was 1936 Tactical Bomber, and the other was 1940 Carrier
- Mods: I run a number of graphic and interface mods, most of which don't affect gameplay or the checksum. But one that does is a unit leveling mod which breaks up green, trained, regular, & veteran into multiple sub-tiers so there's less drastic shifts caused by reinforcements. Nothing else should affect gameplay.

It happend before the patch ass well

- Has it only been since 1.4? or 1.4.1? No i have been playing HOI4 since 1.3.X because ass a HOI3 player I wanted to play a bug free game.
- Does it only happen with one country? or multiple? I only played 2 games ass Germany
- What techs has it affected? all doctrines and everything else that can get a -x% bonus
- Mods: dunno, I play bareback

I half have it. Like, the 50% doesn't show, but the price is halved.

Hi. Thank you for taking your time to report this. I've been trying to get it to happen for me in game but no luck so far. I know you said it doesn't seem to repro from saves, but you wouldn't happen to have a save prior to it happening anyways?

It is also reproducable if you add/remove some mods to the game. Anyhow, when I'm home, I'll look for an older save with this bug.
