Here is something odd that just happened to me in my current game. It was 1704, I was playing France, and I had just spent a quarter of a million pounds to be able to build my first 90 gun SOI. After it was built, I took it out to capture some Spanish shipping in order to help pay for it. First battle I destroyed a brig and captured two flutes. I transferred the two flutes to a new fleet and left the screen by clicking on the x in the upper right hand corner. When I got back to the regular screen the new fleet of flutes was there but my SOI was gone!!!

Thought that maybe this was because I left the screen wrong, so I spent another quarter of a million pounds, did basically the same thing after it was finished but this time left the screen by clicking on the continue button. SAME THING HAPPENED! My new fleet of captured flutes was there but my SOI disappeared.

So, I tried one more time after building another enormously expensive ship. This time instead of transferring captured ships to a new fleet I transferred them into my own with the SOI. This time, when I returned to the regular screen everything was still there.

So my question is, is this some sort of bug? Does it only occur after a certain time period in the game or only with 90 gun SOI's? I ask this because previously this had been my standard practice--creating a new fleet from the captured ships, sending them home to sell, and continuing with my piracy. I never lost the warship fleet before when it was frigates or 46 gun SOI's or a combination.

Anyone know what may have happened? Also, does anyone actually still read this forum as I seem to be the only one posting to it?

Thanks in advance.

I have had this sort of thing happen occasionally. The game limits you to a maximum number of commanders if you try to exceed that number it is the new fleet that does not get created. To answer your question, this forum is pretty much dead and from what I have seen the developer has no plans for fixes or improvements. This game is going on 2 yrs old and did not really sell that well.

Mostly I feel this is because the game tried to be and economy sim and battle sim. The compromises made to bring these two genres together produced a game that was lack luster in both areas.
