Not that much work. Just go to find & replace in Edit and you'll do it easily enough. Original Numbers are 10000 for Horse Cavalry, 6666 for Light Calvary, 2222 for Light Infantry, 1112 for Heavy Cavalry and 200 for Knights. Going to go try it out myself right now.

Their historical tumens nominally consisted of ten thousand soldiers. Game balance is probably your main consideration here.

Just want to say thanks to the people who suggested removing the mongol event file. I moved it to my desktop (to be reinstated later) and it's helped a lot.

Whether the mongols need attrition or just nerfing a little, I'm not sure. But I'm trying to learn the game, and the mongols are simply too difficult to deal with. They've definitely put me off playing as the Russians, and ended a couple of games early. So for now, it's better for me if they weren't in the game at all.

Yes Mongols were horrifying, bloodthirsty, and exotic. They conquered with superior tactics and and a seemingly endless amount of cavalry, their main downfall was their weak decentralized government. The Chinese predicted as far back as Genghis himself that Mongols could conquer but not govern, this is never properly shown in CK2, historically whenever a great Khan died there was an immense civil war between his sons that required the horde to turn back to Mongolia and give the battered Europeans a break.
The immortal stacks of 100k+ men stop this from ever happening, no human player would dare revolt against even a regency because the stack never disbands and it will crush anything in its way. And the AI is barely capable of managing it's own demense at times much less leading an independence revolt against the Khan

What if the attritionless reinforcements were coded like the Holy Orders, i.e., they could not fight their co-religionists. That way, the advantage would still work against the Christian and Muslim nations, but the civil wars could happen with their accustomed ferocity.

I still think the Mongols should get attrition, if a reduced one (like half or so). I mean, they were a powerful force, that changed the face of the earth forever, but I still think, they should abide to some rules. If they hit a stable, centralized empire, they shouldn't just wipe it out or subjugate it, as if it was nothing.

I believe Fredrik mentioned in the SI video that he has experimented with reduced attrition for Mongols. So if we are lucky those experiments proved successful and we will get Mongols with attrition.

I wouldn't really have a huge problem with the mongols having these huge ten million man armies with space marines and fire breathing dragons but why is it that the only thing you can do against them is to either gather a 100 000 man army as a super empire or just to lay down and die?
Why can't i swear fealty or send them 200 gold and a wagon filled with virgins every 5 years for a truce or something?
Isn't that pretty much what everyone who came in contact with the mongol hordes and didn't want to die did?
Personally im never again going to play east of Sweden in this game before something is changed.
