Directplay problem

Hi.
I´m trying to play mp with my friend with ip connection.
Proplem is that Kerio (firewall) doesn´t show that directplay is running at my friend pc. It works fine for me and also with my other pc.
Is there something taht needs to be downloaded from Microsoft or any other reason to that?
We both have XP,sp2, eu2 1.08patch and Kerio

all you need is directX isntalled as far as I know.

To me it sounds more like a router/firewall problem.

as a test try disabling his firewall to see if the game can get a connection then.

We allready tried without firewalls.
Could reinstalling directX help then?

No game host found on IP.....
We both have tried to host. I tried with both of my pc:s and it worked but with friend it does not.

ok, your friend does have a local network at home?
