Owen, I don't really get why you want to change BB's sliders in a way that seems pretty random to me...
It wasn't random. The intention was to represent a human player taking BB to full land, where they will be after the army reform event kicks in, and then account for more modernising choices in random events. The lower inno slider is so that BB actually gets missionaries, given that her capital is still Catholic. Are there any changes there you really think are wrong?Originally posted by Hive

Yeah, I agree, that could probably stay at 9. The rest were supposed to be from random events, apart from pushing up land.Originally posted by Hive
Well no not really, but different players change different things... I was just curious as to what exactly made you suggest these changes - like serfdom. Personally, that is one of the last sliders I change...

On the lag part, if I am suffering too much lag, then I usually click on retreat alot sooner then await the result's of the first few round's of exchange between a battle.
There has been instance's where I did suffer enough lag that I was very hesitant to even attack and usually I just defend in those circumstance's. Luckily with Red Phoenix hosting, I don't really suffer alot of lag, so I'm usually fine in battle's.

Also I want to say, that I will be playing this session, so it should be very intresting.

my proposal:
FROM: (current sliders)
policy = {
date = { year = 1560 month = june day = 25 }
aristocracy = 6
centralization = 3
innovative = 7
mercantilism = 8
offensive = 4
land = 5
quality = 5
serfdom = 9
}
TO: (new sliders)
policy = {
date = { year = 1560 month = june day = 25 }
aristocracy = 6
centralization = 6
innovative = 7
mercantilism = 8
offensive = 4
land = 9
quality = 3
serfdom = 9
}
- leave aristo, serfdom, inno & mercantilism
- more quantity
- more centralisation
- more land
I'm not sure on offensive![]()
I know they have. Their centralisation went down by 1 during last session for example. A human player would have taken the opposite choice, which I think was the point I was trying to make in the first place.Originally posted by Hive
Yes, but you can't assume that they would have gotten those clicks from events... besides, how do we know that BB hasn't got any random slider events already?![]()

There are a few problems with FAL's suggestion. Innovative must be 6 or lower to get missionaries so they can convert Brandenburg province (or everywhere else). Land has no need to be higher than 8, since they're going to get land +2 in the next month if they go historical in the event. This doesn't matter much I guess. Quality I didn't reduce, since so many of Brandenburg-Prussia events push it up that a quality 9 strategy becomes inevitable unfortunately. Apart from that, no problem.![]()
Hmm, I'm not convinced, particularly in the case of quantity/quality. There is equally an argument that RPing towards quality or staying neutral is much more in line with national policy at the time, if you want to go down that road.Originally posted by FAL
Land needs to be higher, because a player needs to play RP-wise and thus without knowledge of coming events. Try to view the sliders without future events in your head. the same goes for the quality events.

Don't worry, I'm not that strict Hive, and Red isn't either. FAL is going all Mach2 on us.Originally posted by Hive
If you guys are that strict on RP, I'm afraid I'll have to pass on this...![]()

Hey, I was going to say that.Originally posted by Damocles
ideal rp is kinda different from 'retarded'. Why would a BB player waste 20 years of dp clicks on land when they get several events that do it for them?
