Redphoenix wasn't able to come tonight, and there were 8 or 9 players still around so we started a nice easy 1492 PE game for 7 and tried out my host capabilities. Hopefully DU will continue next Wednesday. It is intended that this new game will fit around the other formally-scheduled games, including DU.

Hey there everyone, I'm really sorry for not being there on wednesday. I had a family emergency that took all my attention on that day and some of the next, so this is really the first time I've had the opportunity to get online to write about it.
Sorry again, I hope you had fun playing the backup game. I will most definately be there next wednesday and I want to continue up on this game.. and yeah I put you as the current england player archduke, as the old english player was up for a change anyway. You'll be introduced to the ciruculation once your dice rolls high enough, untill then you are england(that can be from one to several sessions).
Anyway you guys could of played the DU save without me too, I thought a couple guys had the save from last wed. I'll try to make sure atleast someone has it for future, incase something like this happens again so play can go on without me.
Anyway DU is still wery much alive and kicking and see you all next wednesday

We didn't quite have enough people on Wednesday anyway, and missed your knack of getting enough subs. I think we had nine or ten, but by the time we decided to play anyway, a couple had gone. I don't have the save, and in fact was hoping to get it from you during the week, so that would have meant someone ICQing it to me or doing an extra host.
Anyway, I'm still looking forward to next Wednesday, and my plans for then haven't changed.
EDIT: I'm happy to be the backup host if people do want to play and you aren't there. I'll try to make sure I get the save from you at the end of each session from now on.

Incidents like this happen, and regarding to not being able to get online, I think it might be useful to have some phone numbers available to inform others. My number is +358 40 5203950, feel free to text / call whenever not being able to get online or in the occasion I'm not online when needed..

We've just added a few more accounts at work and it looks like I'll be staying late for a few weeks. Sorry guys. I'll probably be available as a sub by mid December, if you need me. hope we have a great game today in the coming weeks I might have less chances to make the sessions with another exam week coming up, but I'll try to arrange a sub for my self atleast, but the game can go on with a bit less players too.

I am trying to get the intermittent "ddhelp" CTD problem that I've been having sorted out, but progress is stalled while I try to get past the fact that running the update for my graphics card drivers gives me a self-extracting rar file where the process for setting the extraction directory is either corrupted or in an unsupported language, probably Chinese.I get the same error when playing MTW, Alpha Centauri and the Railroad Tycoon 3 demo and I didn't see it before my computer update, so it's definitely some sort of clash between DirectX9 and my system. I thought I had a bug report open in the forum, but I can only find a different one that is also probably DirectX-related. I'll start one again once I get a bit further.
I am happy to host if people want me to. I would prefer not to GM, but will do it if asked, including discussing and carrying out edits etc. I don't really want to agree to organising the sessions, since I don't have the ability to get subs at short notice that Red and others have.
Oh, and good luck with the exams Red.

the start time is 20:00 CET now, was changed a few weeks back.
though still at 20:30 we have only 6 players here,
archduke has problems with ISP, khephren can't play due to work, twoflower can't play due to UNI connection, these absentees I can understand as they announced so before hand.
However I'd like to know whats up with the rest of the playes? I know there may be some incident that prevented someone from showing up today, but is that the case for all the other players? We have 6 players here waiting for everyone else, if you have not had an emergency, then please atleast have the courtesy of letting us know you are not coming so we don't have to come and be here for nothing.
Also I'd like to know are all players still wanting to continue this campaign? We have a roster of 14 players that have vouched to play. Now 3 of these have notified about not being able to play, what are the rest 5 doing?
