To the Kaiser,

I assure you that both countries, the UK and France, do not desire conflict with any other Great European power. The United Kingdom, especially, supports European powers in their attempts at colonising, and bringing civilization to the world, as well as providing strategic materials for the world.

The only nation we see as being a pariah, worthy of destruction and unworthy of being placed in the fold of Great Powers has been clearly labelled by the UK. We ourselves are still discussing whether or not to throw it into the abyss.

I will NOT stand by while my nation is so blatantly insulted. If you want war, declare war. If you have not the courage, then let the issue drop. Your arrogance is going to be punished should you do the former. You may believe the United States is a weak nation, but I'm ready to prove you wrong.

To the pariah,

The pariah state does not understand that it cannot possibly cause the slighest harm to the United Kingdom. You should understand your place in the world and understand that you shouldn't bite off more than you can chew.

Taking on colonial possessions without a navy was a foolish move, and just goes to show how inexperienced your leaders are.

To the vassal-Queen Victoria, from the Son of Heaven : Greetings! We are given to understand that you object to Our war with the Dalai Lama, who has insulted Our Majesty by refusing to acknowledge Our divine descent.

While We do not usually harken to barbarians, We do not wish to give offense to a subject with whom We have had such good relations in the past. Thus We suggest this compromise : Tibet will be annexed, in order that Our might may be impressed upon the recalcitrant monk. However, We will then, in Our mercy, permit the Dalai Lama self-government, so that you need not be nervous of Our troops descending upon your domains in India.

Yet I believe it was the Americans who won the war. It cost us little (about 20k pounds, what with German loan of 10k, so 30k I suppose) and we have gained a few valuable lessons from it. I've noticed that despite your numerous threats of America's total destruction, you haven't even come close to following through on it. Any and all British invasions into American soil have been repulsed immediately. I am now second only to you in military might, and that is soon to be reversed. The times they are a changin', the times they are a changin'...

The Americans suffered over 200k casualties, and 8 divisions were wiped out, for a loss of a mere 40k men. This was with the UK not even having to mobilise. We gained a colony and 100 prestige, you gained a core you would have got gotten through an event anyway.

Vernon, in the newely claimed colony, defended by 3 divisions, held out to a 15 division attack by the United States.

If the United Kingdom did not feel sorry for the pathetic state of affairs, and the fact that it was clear that the US was crumbling (30% War Exhaustion within 3 weeks, begging for loans from other Great Powers before the war even started), we would not have made even that pathetic peace. The Americans live on for now, but only because we allow them to live on.

Don't make threats you can't back up. You've stated two contrary things: that you want nothing but my utmost destruction and at the same time that I exist only because you allow me to. As my predecessors have said: let the British come. Let them come and face the wrath of the American people.

The Austrian Government laughs at its sorry excuse for a counterpart in Roma. It professes to stand for self-determination, an "Italy for Italians" but yet it won't even stand up for those principles of self-determination it SUPPOSEDLY holds dear. Too cowardly to actually take on the Austrian might, the Italian forces instead were forced to make themselves look less pathetic, by invading a nearly defenseless Switzerland. A nation it had been guaranteeing, as had Austria. The Swiss have stayed neutral throughout the centuries, yet the Italians bring death and destruction into their midst.

Therefore, Austria considers it a moral obligation to call a secular Crusade against the upstart Italians, who would not even be unified had Austria and other powers not generously assisted. the Italian government forgets all this when it chooses to make unannounced war on Austria's friends and neighbors. It hides behind Brazil and now the UK, because Italy won't stand up for itself. Who will be their next victim? France? Germany? the remnant of Switzerland? Austria herself? It is necessary to quash this warmongering expansionistic nation, who among our friends, neighbors, and allies has the backbone to stand up? Who will stand beside Austria in its great struggle to maintain balance and order in Europe?

Italy's independance is gauranteed by the United Kingdom. It's past actions have been accepted, it's taking colonies in Asia and taking parts of Switzerland.

However, the United Kingdom warns its Italian ally that it should not overstep its boundaries. We will not support de-stablisation in Europe.

German Empire

The leadership in Berlin is deeply concerned about the political turnmoil in Europe. Due to an oversight in the foreign service office, the guarantee of Independance by Austria on Switzerland was overlooked. Germany agreed to partition that state with Italy, as the northernmost population is German speaking. Once the mistake was discovered, our plans were scrapped in order to honor Austrian wishes.

The Kaiser is now in a precarious situation. While we want to protect our southern neighbor and former ally, troubling information has trickled in. It seems that Austria, ignoring German overtures to resolve the situation and to aid them, has sought an alliance with France, a power with an overtly aggressive past toward Germany.

We would like to work with both our friends in Roma and Wien to resolve the issue, but Austria's actions have driven them furthur from us. Since we were allied with both sides before the conflict, Gemany only sees honor in remaining neutral. Austria should know that pursuing a military relationship with France will be seen as aggressive by Berlin.

The Kaiser should step back for a moment, and consider the situation which leads us to consider seeking French help:

1)He went behind Austria's back, and made a Faustian pact with the devil (Italy).

2)He ignored his ally Austria, and made plans to participate in a takeover of Switzerland with said devil, again behind Austria's back, without Austrian participation, and disrgarding a solemn guarantee to Switzerland.

3)Upon us learning of all this, and witnessing the invasion of Switzerland, in which case Austria honoured its guarantee, it is true that the Kaiser did not proceed with his half of the invasion. However, he made no attempt to restrain his new ally, which took almost all of Switzerland for himself. Austria could not decisively defeat Germany and Italy, and so was forced to stand by and watch. Again, Austria's wishes and point of view were ignored, as the Kaiser wanted only to broker a deal, in which Austria would likely have sacrificed its swiss neighbors to Italian control anyway, and by extension, Austria's own principles and diplomatic reputation. The imperial government in Wien could not under any circumstances agree to any deal that would compromise our integrity.

4)Therefore, Austria has resolved to seek aid from other quarters, including France, the Ottomans, and any other nation which would seek to restrain this warmongering Italian power. We would prefer to see switzerland peacefully restored to the swiss, but until we see evidence of our once trusted german allies to assist us in this noble endeavor, we will seek aid from other nations to achieve this goal diplomatically or via force of arms

We find Italian enemies on more of our border than ever before, yet we remain defiant and resolute in the struggle, and will be prepared to assist the swiss in any way possible, as soon as conditions permit.

Our only concern was Italy's safety that is why we had lent them armies of Brazil. We had no dealings or even heard plans of Switzerlands invasion and it was a terrible act to disregard such a country with a long standing neutrality. That act has stained the Italian nation, but Italy has been a good ally and friend of our nation so we cannot leave them to stand alone.

To Austria:

Again, the High Command did not know of the Austrian guarantee until after Italy had called us to war and we agreed. In a flurry of messages we were surprised to see that Austria was involved. Germany did not "go behind Austria's back". The Kaiser has no obligation to ask permission from Wien. We were simply acting on the Italian request in a matter that served our interest. Better the German speakers in the North to be under Germany that all under Italy, no?

Having already accepted the Italian call, we did ask them to call off the assault. However, their national prestige was at stake and they were forced to continue as planned. Given the situation it would have been dishonorable for Germany to stop them by force.

The Kaiser has tried to appease the Austrians as we have a long history together, however, the mighty German Empire will not beg. We offer help to resolve this problem in a way that is amicable to all. If that is not acceptable then it will be Austria's loss.

Barring a statement from Wien requesting German support, henceforth the full power of our alliance with Italy shall be instated. The full terms of the agreement shall be met, although any action requiring military force will require the signature of the Kaiser.

so what the Kaiser is saying then, is if Austria should gather a coalition for the SOLE purpose of liberating Switzerland, that Germany will attack Austria?

His Imperial Majesty would love to hear amicable solutions, but your Imperial Majesty has not yet offered any...

addition: btw, whats up with this double standard? you can consort with my enemy (italy) but i can't consort with yours (france)???

The United Kingdom no longer wishes an alliance with Italy, as it is clear this nation has greatly upset the order of peace on the European Continent.

To that extent, we now order that Italy release all parts of Switzerland it has unjustly annexed, else, it will face war with the United Kingdom and all its allies willing to support this cause.

We make this order based on the fact that Switzerland is likely to be a starting point of a much larger and more destructive war in the future (yes we realise the irony), and we ask that the Italian peoples realise the mistake they have made in attacking a Sovereign Nation, by releasing the land they stole from it.

His Imperial Majesty jubilantly hails this show of support, and wishes to thank her Majesty and the British Government. We wish to announce that, although Austria is about to commence a major naval buildup, this in no way will be to challenge british dominance of the oceans. We will use it to only to patrol the mediteranean and defend our peaceful-gotten colonies. When once switzerland is restored, and independence re-guaranteed, we for our part pledge to demobilize and restore normal friendly relations with Italy and our friend Germany. We have never considered Brazil to be anything but a friend, so there is no quarrel in that quarter.

The United Kingdom has decided to do what is best for Europe, not what it best for one particular nation. The Austrians need not fool themselves into thinking we do it for their sole betterment.
