I should have no problems with that. I am not going overseas anymore this year and so will be on hand to deal with anything.
I should be able to run Britain during the holidays, except for 24th, 31st and maybe 1st.
A surrender from Bag doesn't give you his SC's. You would still have to fight for the win.
I am in favor of a Christmas break (at least). I think it is now clear that our boys won't be home by Christmas, and that, as Italy says, 'There can be only one.'

It's really hard to conduct diplomacy with only a 24hr window. It cuts down on discussion tremendously...

Bagricula is usually online at the same time as me, so I don't think Vainglory living in Australia would really hamper your ability to.... *ahem* conduct diplomacy with him.
I'd still prefer to stick to 48 hour turns, especially as we're heading into a week and a half of holidays and travel.
But the Sultan resides in the United States...so for me to conduct diplomacy with Vainglory requires a significant lag between statements, as we are generally sleeping while the other is reading our message. This entails a significant slowdown of any communication, and resorting to 12 hour turns would render any cooperation with someone on the other side of the world almost impossible. A similar situation exists between the US and Europe, although the problem is not as bad.
It is not as if we are communicating by phone, either. This is a series of letters, written back and forth, each of which needs time to be crafted...proposals need to be considered and thought over...12 hr turns do not allow enough time for this discussion to take place, given the time zone constraints of the game.
In my opinion, if you go to 12 hour turns, you may as well dispense with the diplomacy all together. Coordination would be all but impossible.
You haven't considered how long it takes Prussians to link up words into sentences...

Also, 24 hour turns would be too fast, as was pointed out, because it takes so long for correspondence to make round trips.
