Again, you're right. This update was, to be honest, a bit rushed. I was trying to babysit at the same time.

By the sound of it you're a tentative babysitter as well as GM. I spent half my teenage years looking after my nieces and nephews, there's nothing to it. If they're young enough, they just want to sleep all the time, if they're older than that they just want to run around, so you stick a leash on them, lash them to something, and off you go. If it's a hot day give them a water bowl.

Yes, well, I was trying to ignore them... but one of them was yelling out my name from the next room... kind of distracting :)

I'm a responsible babysitter.

I resent the implication that I'm irresponsible. My nieces and nephews all think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread.

If they're shouting your name and not in mortal danger, it's time to use the Outdoor Voice on them. Only adults get to shout when they're not about to suffer grievous injury.

Luckily, others pick up on my errors and they can be fixed quickly.

I'm afraid it's still not quite correct. A Rum failed in its attack on Serbia and was dislodged by A Bud (with support from A Gal). Meanwhile A Con moved into Bulgaria. That means we need a retreat phase where the Turkish army from Budapest can retreat into either Ukraine or Sevastopol.
There should be Turkish armies in Greece, Bulgaria and Constantinople, but not in Ankara. You could try using realpolitik for order resolution. It works even when distracted by children. :)

I'll have a retreat order for you by the deadline.

Just to be sure, since I'm getting confused; what deadline are you referring to?
All I see is a movement/diplomacy deadline, and what appears to be an extension of THAT deadline.

Obviously, I'd rather not have a 60-something hour deadline for just one retreat; and having that retreat with the rest of the orders, while unlikely to have any lasting effect, would be a rather blatant change of game dynamics.

The GMs post is quite clear, he is extending the phase (winter phase) by 20 hours, giving time for me to get in the retreat order and himself time to sleep. Then the new diplomacy and movement phase would start, with the standard 48hourish deadline...

That's how I'm interpreting it, anyway...

This strikes me as kind of contradictory... I think ForzaA has a valid point - a literal reading of extending the current phase, which was Fall, sounds like we've got a 68 hour Fall turn and no retreat phase. However Taiisatai seems to intend there to be a retreat phase, so I would interpret it that Tai means the Winter turn he skipped is now in force, and has been extended by 20 hours in order to give TheExecutor a chance to submit a retreat...

Tai will resolve this when he's awake I hope.

I've sent the retreat order, y'all have the rest of the day to get me to change my mind.

To clarify, I was giving Turkey 20 hours to send orders and then resuming business-as-usual with a 48-hour Movement and Diplomacy Phase. The result is the exact same as would have occured if I hadn't made a mistake. Newly updated map will be going up now. I was posting from my mobile which results in weird errors if I make the message too long, such as the message not even showing up, so I have to keep it short and sweet. It also preserves my sanity as I'm an insanely slow texter.

Any orders sent during the retreat phase will count as your Fall, Movement and Diplomacy Phase orders, unless of course you overwrite them within the next 48 hours.

@ Seboden, thanks for the site, I'll look into it. Sorry to see you leave :(
