Info: you start with the Argo, and one medium or light mech of your choice. This is from a list and includes DLC mechs. But you can only have the raven for example if you start as Liao with a specific background.


this start is meant to be harder, you have no pilots so need to hire them, you have no spare mechs, so you need to salvage them.

Though it does grant a .25 score multiplier if you pick it. With the reasoning being your company just went bust you lost everything in a hard job your pilots left to join other groups, and your mechs where taken to pay off debts.


Starting stats

starting mech: player choice from a list unless random is picked.
starting C-bills: 1,420,000
starting pilots: NA
Argo repairs: NA
starting planet: always a half star.



This is meant to be a true challenging start, for those who thing the start of a career is a bit boring, I mean a good chunk of us are already running the first few missions with only one or two mechs anyway.

why I am not just posting the changes to the idea in the original topic, I feel this is different enough from the original idea even if it is in the same vain so to speak. If this was a mistake a moderator can just delete this and I can post it as a comment in the original idea.

Seems a tad labor intensive for what I presume is the relatively few that would want this. Also the proposed modifier is too high.

Coding in no expenses for 2 months seems more work when you could just start them with more money.

Advice taken into account, removed the no pay for 2 months and increased the starting money. The concept of merc company that just had to sell everything remains. Just ended up with slightly more from what they sold.


that and I realized with a harder start C-bills will be needed for getting scrap mech parts earlier.

-multiplier in idea cut from .50 to .25
-removed 2 months no pay
+increased starting C-bills from 560,000 to 1,420,000

Note values are random so doesn't mean much didn't want to do lets say a perfect 500,000 or 1,500,000
