Hello today we wanted to play hoi4 but we had a problem my version is 1.9.2 (a73d) my friends version is 1.9.2 (070f) so we couldn't play multiplayer how do we fix this
First, you two have different checksums, and that means you have different game software in some way, including platform, DLC's, modules, and starting rules.
The checksum (a73d) is for the vanilla, windows/pc latest release, You don't say if you are both on the same platform.
You have the same ver/checksum for the LIVE 1.9.2 release.
The other player does not have the current release for some reason:
1 - user mods turned on?
2 - an older 1.9.2 beta version?
3 - same difficulty level?
4 - same user/custom game rules?
5 - Ironman mode?
That's all I can think of, I'm not a MP expert by any means..
You see the Version and Checksum on 2 places: In the Launcher and in the Game. I suppose in the Launcher you have both the same number 1.9.2 (a73d). Right?
In game your friend has a different number, that means Mods activated and/or games files edited or corrupted.
Tell him to deatcivate all Mods and to let Steam check the integrity of the game files. (In Steam right click on hoi4 -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of game files.)
