Was it a such big deal, everywhere? Muslim rulers managed to rule over large christian populations as an example. But, it should be far lower than the wrong religion penalty, which was a much bigger deal.

Interestingly enough, this perk changes depending on how tolerant your faith is of others. There’s multiple variations, but here’s one:
You can create a own religion and I suspect Culture technology is still a thing, I even suspect the Culture fascination is tied Culture technology.I fear that tolerance is tied directly to the religion, denying the player to decide how tolerant they want to be themselves. In CK2 you've got the tolerance tech, but that's it. I
Here it say that you can use vassals of the same Culture and religion of the county to increase popular opinion. Each County also has an opinion of their holder, referred to as the ‘Popular Opinion’. This represents the sentiment of the local peasants, and tends to decrease if you’re not of their culture or faith, promoting the use of ‘local lords’, vassals of the local culture/faith, to handle such territory for you - as converting it will take quite some time. Unhappy Counties tend to cause problems down the line… more on this in another DD.

Player Freedom and Progression: We want to cater to all player fantasies we can reasonably accommodate, allowing players to shape their ruler, heirs, dynasty and even religion to their liking - though there should of course be appropriate challenges to overcome.
Player freedom is quite a big deal and is one of the Points in the vision DD:
That sounds about right, what I said was mostly hearsay as I hopefully made clear. While the bias is mostly gone or played more for laughs these days or relegated to the more remote parts of the country.the Welsh don't hate, hate the English, there is this sort of national batter inside the UK, the Welsh all shag sheep, the Scottish are perpetually angry drunks, the Irish are stupid and the English are all cruel and uncaring. But outside the banter, jokes and stereotyping there really isn't that much friction, I've never encountered any real hatred myself and I've been to all the constituent countries of the UK.

Dont think religion would be all that major factor that made vassals revolt given vassals that shared religion with liege also did revolt.True, but how many Christian vassals did they have? Very few that I know of, and some that they did have (Armenians) were prone to revolting.
Now the question asked should be if different religion penalty make senseTo sum up, my claim was miserably destroyed but at least you have actually convinced me that different culture penalty makes sense![]()
It surely does, yes. It was a reason for discrimination : excommunication, inquisition, tribute, holy war, proselytism etc.Now the question asked should be if different religion penalty make sense![]()
And others did hardly care at all like everything else.It surely does, yes. It was a reason for discrimination : excommunication, inquisition, tribute, holy war, proselytism etc.
