What is the difference between the two?
I suppose it reduces the number of events.. does it make the game less historically accurate?

And is it known to increase the speed of gameplay?

Does the Lite one have any known bugs not found in the full version?

What is the difference between the two?
By looking at the two scenario files you'll see only one glaring difference: the line
include = "scenarios/VIPscen/events/events_flavor.txt"
is missing in the lite version.

I suppose it reduces the number of events.. does it make the game less historically accurate?
Yep, that indicates that all flavour events are ignored if you choose to play the lite version. The historical accuracy might suffer a little bit since there are some hidden gems inside them but if it helps letting Ricky run smoothly on your PC turn them off.
