...I would really have expected something actually on the steam store to work without such a huge amount of hassle. What order am I supposed to do this stuff in, should I just delete the whole damn game and redownload Hoi3 on its own to get dig to work?
Hi Uberbyford, I don't know much about Steam except to stay away from it - sorry, that's my own humble opinion from experience.
Commander-DK just confirmed this load procedure: HOI3> SF >FtM > patch 3.05 >DIG > patch v2.06
Note: BEWARE - ensure you place DIG patch in the Mod section in DIG where it belongs (see first or second post on this thread). Many of us are gulity of patching the main files instead of Mod/DIG)
(if you want to do it the long-hand load just to be sure it's:
HOI3> patch v1.4 > SF > patch v2.04f > FtM > patch 3.05 >DIG > patch v2.06 but it shouldn't be necessary but now you know what patches are in use in case you don't want to trust Steam.
I recommend before you update to DIG that you get a clean version of FtM v3.05 working with the correct CheckSum of : UBYY.
I further recommend that BEFORE you proceed to DIG that you make a copy of your working FtM 3.05 just in case and besides you will need it in the future. Also, start from a clean install, make copies along the way...
It's a stable product as I and others have had it running for years now on XP and WIN 7 so you got that working for you. I can't remember the CheckSum for DIG but it is also posted on the first or second post with the install instructions. Hope there was something in here that was useful to you. - Rick
