Dies Irae: Götterdämmerung DLC pre-order on Gamersgate

Let's say you have multiple installations of HOI3. One unpatched and several with different patches and mods. Are you telling me this DLS *must* be installed into the unpatched HOI3 SF 1.0 directory "Hearts of Iron III"? Couldn't you point it to one of the other installations (HOI3 2.04e fx) instead?

You should have a main installation which is up to date (patched), and you can copy that to other folders then if you like. The DLC (as well as all patches) looks for that main library where you first installed the game, where it's registered to be on your computers database. If you change that folder, move it or what ever it wont be able to find it. It's been like that with all the HoI3 patches so far...

And no, you should not run the mod with unpatched SF, you should have that main folder where you once installed the game (or reinstall it so the new folder is registered), patch your game to the latest patch, and run the mod.

With Paradox pathes you don't point to where your game is (for some reason), it has to detect the game itself, and this is what's causing problems if you move your game, or if you mess with the registration database.

Instead of using the .exe patch files you can unrar the patch files and copy them to a location of your choice ie. not the main installation but since these files are only are available as an .exe file I suppose what you say is correct in this case.

If you cancel the installation the menu that asks you if you want to remove/keep the files or restart the installer just freezes the game. I have to manually remove the files and restart the downloading process from GamersGate to try again.

This is how to solve it if you want to do it my way.

- "Install" the mod to a separate folder (desktop or elsewhere).
- Copy them into a HOI3 installation of your choice.

I got checksum VNAJ for patch 2.04e.

Downloaded it, and it launched fine. Started a game as Germany, looked around a bit and saw total awesomeness, and then saved the game and exited because I had to go to work. ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stupidly bought HOI3 and SF on steam a while back, and I can't seem to install Dies Irae downloaded by GG =( Any advices ? Says HOI3 isn't installed

Click on "keep temporary files" and go to your download folder (where you put Dies Irae), you should have a folder named Dies Irae, you need to copy the content of that folder to your HOI3 installation. You can overwrite the folders if asked, this is safe.

Too bad the gamersgate installer doesn't ask for the location of HOI3 folder.

Thank you Devildread. Unluckilly for me, the temp files only consist of a "launch" file which I'm unable to unzip. Guess I'm screwed, will teach me to buy Pdox games on steam (Won't fool me twice )

Heh, that's been asked about 1000 times. It's not compatible with any DLC, it's launched as a seperate mod from the launcher.

EDIT: You were quicker to find that out than I was typing. It's okay, don't be sad, there's even more stuff in DI:G.

Small advertising. I have made a sub-mod for Dies Irae. It contains around 100 German vehicles, with almost historical techs and model pics. Also I have added a WIP Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler. It's an event-chain. It will progress the LSSAH brigade from 1 infanterie-battalion size to two battalion sized and before the invasion of Poland it will be regiment sized. It will also become motorized and eventually mechanized. Next update will contain the full event chain for 1. SS-Panzer-Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler.
Also added Light/medium/heavy Tank Destroyers and Assault Guns. I also rebalanced the stats a bit. Because Germany uses unique armour brigades. It's easier to modify the AI stats.

One question and pretty important to me - I noticed that DLC has some new units (like more than one type of SS, light infantry, etc.) will AI build those or will it not as I remember in one of the earlier ICE builds, that I played, there were tons of new units, but AI would just ignore them when designing their production queue?

Other than that, screenshots, that are displayed on Steam, look just awesome.

it is germany only and you should play only germany.

Just went to gamersgate to order the DLC. Have completed the transaction as far as I know. However, the game I’ve purchased is missing on my account, but the payment was made already. No download link was made available... ...

It's a very frustrating experience. Has anyone here who has placed an order who had similar experiences? What have I done wrong?
