Did we ever find out what Armageddon bombardment does?

It's not in the patch notes, it was never used in the stream, and we only got vague "it does bad stuff" hints AFAIK. Is there more info anywhere? I'm highly curious as to what the actual effects are(I hope actually being able to glass the planet, but I understand that it might be OP).

(Has seen no numbers related to it and just know Fanatical Purfiers use it and currently nothing else)
It seems to be a bombardment to blow up the surface and is best used if you don't care about the people/Buildings on said planet though I don't think they will be able to make the planet into glass(They have said before they won't let space habitats be blown up(Yet) so unlikely they will allow normal planets be destroyed/turned into tomb worlds but I could be wrong), though it might make the buildings and local populace turn into to glass

We haven't seen the effects to my knowledge but I imagine it's just a form of bombardment more damaging than full.

I assume it's a nice form of bombardment, where all civilian losses are avoided and just the openly hostile facilities are destroyed. Meanwhile, to avoid PTSD in the local population, your light ships will provide candies and puppies on the surface.

I thought that already had been said since for some reason I was quite sure that the armageddon bombardment would cause the planet to become a barren world and purging everybody in the planet.

Perhaps I've dreamed about it, or perhaps I saw the future with the help of Shrould, either way we will find out next week.

Never understood why people say glassing about bombing a planet. Dropping 50 MT bombs on a planet will that not cause something to explode? Not turn it into glass? Vaylin in Old Republic say it once too and I was just scratching my head wondering why say it like that.

Party comes from Halo where the Covenant would have the space advantage and use that to gain a ground advantage by kill everyone on the ground that opposes them via glassing the planet

Think about what intense heat will do to rock. Now think about volcanic glass, the end result of molten rock cooling quickly. That is why it is called glassing. It isn't merely bombing a planet, it is the act of sterilizing the surface into molten rock.

Specifically the Covenant uses plasma weapons, which damage by having very high heat.

Glassing first started being used after nuclear weapons began to proliferate. Powerful nuclear explosions literally turn sand and rock to glass, so it was easy for science fiction writers to envision planetary nuclear bombardment resulting in the entire planet being turned to nuclear glass.

So "glassing" a planet just means nuking (or any other weapon that is super hot) it into oblivion.

Ever hear of trinitite? The intense heat of a nuclear blast tends to melt and fuse the various minerals in the blast area into a glassy mineral that is often generically referred to as trinitite, named after the Trinity nuclear test and the glassy residue it produced (technically, only nuclear glass from the Trinity test is trinitite, but the term is often used as a generic for all nuclear blast formed glass).

Short version: nuke hot, melt minerals into glass

Similarly, other high-energy events such as meteor impacts (or kinetic weapon bombardment), lightning strikes (or arc emitter bombardment), or exposure to high-powered lasers and plasma bombardment also tend to produce extreme heat and melt minerals into lava and/or glassy slag.

Wiz did say (on twitter I think? Or reddit?) that it had no special mechanics, and it was just the full bombardment++.
This makes sense, anything else would be quite overpowered with how warfare works.

In one of the playground in the first SW KotoR it is suggested the planet Tatooine is a desert planet because it was glassed in the past.

That's kind of disappointing, considering the icon clearly depicts an Earth-shattering kaboom.

At the very least it should turn the planet into a Tomb World.
