Did SOTS2 (including the expansion) ever make a PROFIT or was it a money pit?

I personally think the game is in great shape now and I love playing it, but after all this effort, did it ever make a profit?

If it lost money (and yes I know that nobody would ever tell how much), was the loss bad enough to where one could safely say that there will never be a SOTS3 (or another SOTS2 expansion)?

As a general rule we don't comment on sales figures and other "money" issue. That said there's another general rule in the industry (at least at PDX) - a game that does well sees lots of extra content and expansions.

Kerberos, and we, know that there are tons of fans out there who'd love more SOTS content. If any is made however is a complicated question that we can't answer today.

It's a shitty non-committal answer - but it's the best I can do.

The answer is, yes! End of flesh expansion, which was released about 6 months ago... (it was free)... Did you mean will there be ANOTHER expansion? Mecron had previously indicated that 2 expansions and a weapons/armor DLC pack were planned at release of the original game. Will Paradox fund it? Who knows??

It was more like a fix-patch than an expansion considering the game was obviously released in an unfinished state.

Would love to see a proper expansion though.

No, not really. It added a large-expansion's worth of content* and to the best of my knowledge did not itself make any bug fixes. Those would be in all the patches Kerberos has been releasing for the last year and 11 months**...

All hail ddub!!! For without his dedication (ie unpayed volunteer work) there would have been NO patches to the game. I just hope his heart holds up in the coming years, all those energy drinks cant be good for him!
