Centurion with 2 LRM 20's and VERY little armor. its a 4/6 move. JJ are a possibility too. This barely works. A Trebuchet will have to run with zero armor and no JJ.

**Almost forgot. For PvE, need to add 6 tons of ammo too. I just eyeballed it. No link.

Dude, you posted this thread to get some ideas about your current build. Tnarien offers exactly that, not "FIX DIS NAW!" orders, you know?
i posted this so we could start the discussion on what the Meta is and what it will be for the starting lance. we just fundamentally disagree on a few things but that's alright.

A single LRM20 + AC/5 Centurion build works if you're willing to stay at its baseline CN9-A armor levels. If you feel the need for additional ammo you can drop the MLs for additional endurance (15 AC/5 volleys, 12 LRM20 volleys can be loaded with baseline heatsink, armor and ML levels).

what part of the hide did you not grasp :) you can't direct fire someone if you can't see them. pick the spots where you engage so that you have cover when you cool down. same as in MWO.

Seems like you're making a lot of assumptions about the environments you'll be fighting in. Not to mention that you cannot fire then move without an extremely experienced pilot - by nature, engaging and alpha striking will always put you in the line of return fire unless you can reliably destroy your target in one go. And often not even then.

I'm not sure you can take a fast-paced online FPS meta and apply it here.

a couple of flights of LRM5's will not have me quaking in my boots
OK? Vehicles and turrets happily sensor lock you in procedural missions and tanks and missile turrets don't pack LRM5s.

To say nothing of whatever mech mixes turn up...

from the maps i have seen in the streams you always have cover if you want to have it as for the firee and then move what do you think i will go for with my vomit builds :D

You're talking a starting lance build. It makes no sense to assume a max-level pilot ability.

I mean, you do you, but there's no need to get defensive when people critique your strategies.

yes you are correct, however broken LOS means that the missiles arent very accurate and most importantly you get your mechs into the guarded stance meaning each lurm that connects does only 2 points of damage

Indirect Fire LRMs are plenty accurate, and getting into a Guarded stance implies either having Bulwark and firing from behind cover to begin with, or not having fired and Bracing instead.

that has not been my impression that the indirect fire lurms are plenty accurate from the streams, quite the contrary. regarding the firing part it would be the latter as the firing happened the previous round and heat is at max so move to cover-brace-cooldown

The indirect fire penalty is minimal, especially against a stationary sensor locked target in optimal range.
