I still fail to see how asking for an update is acting like something was taken..
People seem to be hearing what they want to hear. Or reading what they want to read for that matter.
No one claimed something was taken, no one claimed we have a right to this that or the other thing, and no one claimed that they aren't doing better with communication.
The request was simply hey don't do what you did last time, as that did happen last time and we don't want it to happen again, if we aren't going to be seeing the game in Q1 2015 and it looks like a possible delay give us a heads up.
That's not unreasonable in the slightest especially considering this game is already a year late.
Quit trying to change the other side of the debate to try and make it sound unreasonable. No one is making unreasonable demands and no one is acting entitled
I'm with you in this matter! Some people just put the critics in the "why isn't the game released yet? I can't wait!" corner, instead of really reading their posts. More infos are not unreasonable demands. To want to have more infos is just a natural thing, when you really like a game, that is being released in the future. I know, that the devs got plenty to do and i know, that they can't answer every post here. But just writing one (!!!) Sentence in the forum or on twitter about beta status is just a matter of seconds, which you could do just before leaving the office for lunch or home... and since johan at least is pretty active on twitter with other posting, there is no "i have not time" excuse valid in this thing...and i am sure, that the outcome of the beta submission from monday is already clear...
The problem is, that the lack of information leads to speculations, which makes at least me disappointed. When i heard about the beta-tester submissions, i was thinking: "ok! The game is in a good status! After the NDAs are sent back, Beta testing can start", which i assumed because of the lack of info, had begun in mid-november. Now we got mid-december and they say "btw it's not beta". But if they leave room for speculations willingly, they cannot hide behind something like "we didn't ever say it was beta".
If i am a lawyer and my client comes and gives me a case and i say "i'm sending out letters to witnesses for the case and the court" and say nothing in the following, my client must have to believe, that the case would go to court now. And i as a lawyer could not say afterwards "i never intended to discuss this case in court, because i didn't say so explicitly". What would you think of such a lawyer as a paying client?
The game is late now, which is ok for me, because i saw very cool improvements (wt, air force interface, nf). But -with all my respects- i hate this guessing game they play with me...
