It would be nice to see a map of Europe at the beginning of the Grand Campaign though.

Finns?? In Texas? The Russians must have ended the full autonomy of the Grand Duchy of Finland and started some seriously repressive policies :D

Cheers, H.

(and thanks again for a really interesting AAR)

As much as I like to see total, crushing victory, I think the nation-building focus of Victoria is already having an effective on me, just from reading AARs...

I can't decide which I would rather see:
1) A strong, happy Mexico with strong industry, colonial reach, and a subservient buffer CSA to keep the Yanquis low. (It would really be fun to see the Confederates survive the civil war and become a Mexican client state :D)
2) A slavering and vast Mexican Empire which crushes her enemies under the jackboot and terrifies the world with a single angry bellow.

What would be fun to see is how far he can push into the US before agreeing to peace?

If he has the CSA as his wingman I think he could severely hurt the midwest perhaps as far as Chicago. But then again I'm not familiar with Vickie's military model, so perhaps he'll end up with Lee's Army of Northern Virginia forming the left flank of the Ejército de la Repùblica as they assault the Washintonian fortifications. :D

So, I have been thinking. What is there left to explore for the game? The interior of Africa, as this AAR has shown, perhaps the interior of South America as well, but what else is there?

I forget and am too lazy to look, is there PTI in Vicki? I want to say no but I'm not certain.

Belgium possessed the industry that could benefit from the rubber, though. I seriously doubt the prospects of Mexico. The Greater Mexican Empire will be probably smacked down sometime after ACW, provided the Union wins.

I'd just like to say that Mexican Nigeria is about equally ridiculous as Belgian Congo :
Belgian Congo was created because Leopold specificly went around asking the Great Powers to let him do that. Belgia also had the industry to absorb the Belgian ruber.
Mexico didnt ask anything of no one, it seems, nor does it seem to have the capacity to absorb a colony.

Well, he avoided war with the US. As such he had time and resources to shuttle some troops to Nigeria. Quite frankly, I doubt that he will maintain that position past 1880. As of yet, Great Powers are not interested in Nigeria...but he'll be screwed when they do take interest in it.

The the reason Belgium was allowed to do what it did in Congo was because 1. It was a minor 2. Congo looked unimportant 3. It asked.

Mexico in this game just invades Nigeria, is not a minor power, is not a European power, and Nigera is right next to the British in Sierra Leon.

There is no way, no way, that the European powers would just say "Oh. Great. Good work. *clap clap*"

The AI still has tricks up its sleeve.... and even if not, this was several patches ago :)

peace,

p.s. patience is the order of the day, I suppose (as it has been the past few months since I learned about how cool this game will (is) be :D )

I agree with the fact that Mexico will not last after 1880 in Nigeria, because once england finishes colonizing the rest of africa, england will simply take over Mexican Nigeria.
also...
Has anyone noted that the spelling of "esercito" is incorrect. In spanish the word for army is ejercito.:D
